Unknown switch close to the lighter plug!

Hi guys!

I just bought a 2011 genesis 2.0t coupe premium and I have noticed a switch next to the lighter plug( picture below) . Since I bought the car at Hyundai Sherbrooke, they don't know why and when this switch has been added. After a few test, here's what I found: It is not a kill switch(because no one would put it so visible haha). Nothing happens if I turn it off/on when the car is running. So I've decided to test starting the car when the switch is on, and start it when the switch is off. Result: when the switch is flipped down, the cruise control can be turned on and off, but the resume(+) and set(-) buttons does nothing, I can't use my cruise control. If I shut down the car and put it back up and then start the car, my cruise control is working again. I've looked on the internet, I suspect it is a launch controller but I can't be sure and I really don't know what test I should do to confirm this mysterious switch. I will be more than happy if anyone can help me, thank you for your time!

PS: Sorry for my english haha

Have you noticed anything change with your traction control when it's on or off? I know a guy who put in a switch that turns off a few things including traction control so he can do burnouts without the computer flipping out.

Hi Autogen!

The switch in both position doesn't affect my traction control. I can still turn it on/off with the factory TC switch. Do you know if your friend had a launch control? Thanks for your time!

Thats definitely not something factory installed. You might have to follow the wires behind it to see where it goes. I might have been some accessorie the previous owner removed.

Garage

Only way to know is to rip up the dash and track where it goes. The switch can go literally anywhere.
