The exchange and import fees kill the mod budget. I'm still going to get the X-Flex 50A motor mounts, so I think the 44A trans mount will work nicely with that.

Why is it that I cannot find any reasonably priced brake pads and rotors for the base gen?

Yeah, most of them are for the Brembos. Is Monroe a good brand for brake pads?

A few weeks ago I got Hawk brake pads and the stickers that came with it were ripped. I emailed Hawk last week and they "warrantied" me 6 freaking ginormous stickers lol. The pads are absolutely night and day compared to the stock pads. Customer service boasts confidence as well. They're alright in my book.

Dat old ass keyboard tho. I have a G15 in my closet. Used it for playing WoW about 10 years ago, or at least it feels like 10 years ago xD. I used to love the ventrilo control commands on the top.

Ordered the R2C intake with Black Hex Filter upgrade from Tuscani Customs. I had an R2C on my Bk1 and can't wait to get this baby on the Bk2. Also I'm currently staring at my spare SFR tuned ECU that just came in the mail today..... boy am I happy

I do have the brembo model, but stop tech usually has pads for near every car out there. I'd be pretty surprised if they didn't have em for base gen.

haha I've had the G15 for years and I still freaking love it. I use vent as well. The LCD makes it easy to spot whose mic is activating from ambient noise and you can yell at the appropriate person.

Id buy Hawk if I planned on doing some autox or track days but I don't think I really need them. Had HP+ on my rsx and they were awesome. But I also got slotted rotors so maybe it was those...

If they do have them then they're very well hidden or I'm losing my mind (very possible on 3 hours of sleep for 2 days).

Looked at my timing chain yesterday and found some slack between the cams. What say?

You guys think I can resurface these? Then I can get some better pads.

Also I've been reading two different opinions on whether or not to change rotors. Some people say to always change rotors when you change pads, some people say it's okay to just change pads and then whenever you need, change rotors.

@Red Raspberry

That slack does not look too bad as long as the tensioner can handle it. I know that the BK1/4B11 chains are prone to stretch. This is a watch area for the early 2.0's.
@steena_k

I bought Akebono pads for my base brakes from Rock Auto. They squeak when stone cold but work really well. I am surprised they are not listed. I need to replace my rear pads this Fall and I would like to use Akebono pads back there too.

Yeah, I can't find them. I could only really find Wagner and think I might just get Hawk HPS for now and then rotors a bit later. Anyone have experience with Power Stop?

Held an install day at my house today. Also wrapped the intake with thermal wrap to help combat heat soak. Good day overall.
