In my experience, what you described is not very weird weather for Alberta. Especially Peace River, and the hills west of Calgary. I was driving alongside Barrier Lake one day, stopped by the boat launch for the view, and it was raining across only the middle section of the lake. Sunny at both ends. I mean, that particular lake's only 2 miles long. 3km? Rain "storm" must have only been half a mile across and moving very rapidly. Had the same exact situation outside of Cranbrook in BC, too. Lol, mountains, man... Gotta love 'em.

Just over 11,000 miles on my 2014 3.8 r-spec and the left side inner Tie rod is making a popping sound already , changed both left and right side out for Beck/Arnley's complete inner/outer tie rod assy from ROCKAUTO.com for about $ 34.00 a piece plus shipping,getting alignment next week .OEM tie rod assy appear to have not been greased at all . As I stated before , I like and enjoy my Gen Coupe and how I have built it into a fast as hell car but I would never purchase another Hyundai product ever again .

If you are talking about sway bar endlinks - the most heavy duty will be from a Jeep.
They fit aftermarket sway bar hole and coilovers perfect. Stock sway bar you will have to use 1/2 drill bit to make hole a bit larger (as hole is just a hair too small)

Abuse? I would never use your advice Chief.Had I been road racing/tracking my car I would say abuse would be a maybe .As I stated ,the inner tie rod joint was "DRY" , not sure if your reading comprehension caught that description.11,000 mile the inner tie rod should not be dry nor popping .I have research this situation and it seems many Genesis Coupe have early tie rod failures . Do me a favor andbudzi, get more experience .

Well

finally completed this part - small achivment but its done
The material was about 20$ - and total day in amateur turning

No boost leak to outside (OME was leaking a lot)
Better internal seal than OME but still leaking internally

Cant do anything about it using stock membrane with plastic bushing
Still since i have a bit different internal dimension i have more pre-load on the DV spring so it should build boost a bit better

Got this done today. New motor (well new used with 40k miles lol). So far so good. Runs like a champ 🙂

Retired track car brought back to life as a daily and even smog legal in Cali lol. Wifey approved....

Now the fun begins.... Swapping all of the suspension and roll cage over to my Bk2 rspec 😉. Then topping that all off with the 3point8 performance treatment and custom tune. Prolly take like 6 months but should be fun when its done. Hope summer isnt too brutal in the garage this year 😉

Finally tackled my giubo replacement. I did it because my carbon driveshaft wasn't going to arrive in time to go camping with the nephews. Then I found out this morning that trip is cancelled. My sister knew about it for a week and failed to mention it. LOL, wow. anyway, here's a new giubo in place, and my car's rear hoisted sky high. Thought I'd share.

BTW, giubo surgury,... Highly recommend a 20+ inch breaker bar and a ratcheting wrench. I gave myself plenty of room and even with these nice tools, it was still a b1tch.

Also. I have another new giubo to replace the front unit. I'll have two freshies for anybody who wants them once I get the new driveshaft installed and tested. Let me know if you need one or two.

Did you use the OEM guibos that are like $200? Or do you know of any other options?
I think I remember that BMW had an option that might work.

I used the ones made in Germany. They are the same dimensions exactly, so they may be BMW OEM, but they did not bear the Rondell or BMW name anywhere. And they specifically say made in Germany, as opposed to stock which specifically says made in Korea. I've had them for a bit as they were supposed to be replacements for a bud who totalled his gen. Also, they do seem to be of a higher durometer rubber. Probably means something to someone. LOL, carbon fiber is en route so I'm not too concerned. For any who care, my stock piece was very deeply cracked as well. I've had the car 9 years and it has 95k on the odometer.

I think I paid around $45 each for them...?

You know, this is a good tack... Use a beast threaded rod and female threaded rose joints or ball joints instead of a male threaded spherical rod-end. I noticed on McMaster the other day they sell 1 meter long rods of M12 with 1.75 thread in 12.9 steel for about $40/each. Those should outlive the car...

With this method you could even use bulletproof sealed rose joints from like, QA1 and the like.

I got mine at Amazon for around $70 each though they are out of stock now. Here's the German part number. SGF GAH04-005 - OEM German Made Flex Coupler - Bolt Circle 105mm/Bolt Hole 12mm/Bolt Hole Length 35mm
