Good Morning! New Guy Here!

Good morning!

I am a fairly new owner of a Hyundai Genesis 3.8 Coupe M/T, MY 2015.
I traded in my '15 VW Golf for this car. I am enjoying the car, but am also looking for tips and tricks on modifications to improve my driving experience. Good to meet you all and look forward to the many discussions to come.

Christopher.

Welcome, IMHO the Sprint V3 booster, or the less expensive Tros is the best and easiest first mod. It significantly changes the throttle response of the car.

^^^ I second this. Itís a very easy mod that provides noticeable benefit. Itís also easy on the wallet.

And this item installs under the hood or under the gas pedal?

I am currently working on improving my shift response. It's the umpteenth manual transmission vehicle I own, but it has a few quirks that remind me of the days when I was learning to drive a stick.

First item - the Megan Transmission mount. Then I've been looking at a short throw shifter and a fluid replacement with the stuff recommended here - red line MT-85.

The booster module installs down by the accelerator pedal. You plug the factory harness into the module, then plug the module into the pedal. Both have a small display screen that will show the current settings and allow you to change them to suit your needs.

What it does is provide an adjustable ramp rate for the throttle body plate, from stock to OMG! and all points in between. The stock TB ramp rate mapping is permanently set on ďstupid slowĒ so anyone who drives the car has to work harder to screw up. The booster alters the signal that the TB sees and allows the throttle plate to open much more quickly, thus making the car more responsive to throttle inputs. Since itís tunable, youíll have no problems finding a setting that you like, and you may find different settings for different purposes. Itís a blast though.

I just installed the engine leash today and I'm loving it so far! I also installed the megan racing transmission mount a few weeks back and that was a huge difference. With a fresh oil change and those two mods, rev matching so so much easier now.

Transmission mount installed. One of the easiest mods I've ever performed!
So far, so good! Stiffer shifting, so hugely reduced shuddering/shaking between 1st and 2nd.

Can't wait to add the Tros Potent booster when it arrives!!!!

I may have to try it.... on my 2011 I guess I've been lucky cuz I only have the 4th to 5th gear crunch at high rpm. don't know if this would help that or not, maybe not since I heard that's a synchro issue.

It could be a fluid issue also. Some people use Redline, I never have. I use GM Syncromesh, and I change it every 20k miles, because itís not a synthetic fluid. It has eliminated my high RPM grind entirely. I also use a couple ounces of Ceratec additive, which helps maintain the same level of performance when the fluid is cold.

Itís kind of a pain since I use my car for work, and get to 20k pretty quickly, but for results, I couldnít be happier.

Sounds like you've solved it. I have been using Redline for several years now but it never made the issue disappear entirely... yeah every 20K changing tranny fluid would be kind of a pain
