2014 2.0t R Spec

Hello all I just purchased a 2014 GC. You already know the trim since you clicked the link . It has 53kish miles on it and everything seems to be in good working order. Love the car so far and cannot wait to start playing around and seeing what I can do. Just wanted to drop by and say hi to everyone and I'm looking forward to becoming a member of this community.

It’s not too bad a little annoying at times. Will eventually get rid of it

What do you mean by shift lag? Car is manual.

I think they were meaning the lag in boost between shifts. That’s how I took it anyway.

so all 2014 manual 2.0s were giving a weird lag or in more technical terms, a purposeful drop in boost when shifting in the rpm range past 5000rpms, no one knows why hyundai did this and hyundai themselves didnít make the public known of this. the only way i found to fix it was either run a stock tune ECU from a 2013 2.0 or get a tune. i recommend the latter

Well $h!t, I had a 13 RSpec and my dad has a 14 RSpec. Mine didn't have the very noticeable "blank spot" between shifts, while my dad's does. We both ran/run Lap3 UC which definitely added the claimed HP for the octane rated tunes. The Lap3 did not change the "blank spot", on my dad's 14, but it did give it a 40 hp boost, verified on a dyno. Odd the Hyundai would build in such a weird hesitation.

It's a plug in (about 5- minutes) chip that tricks the car into extra boost. Hence Extra power. 40 WHP Dyno proven on my dad's 2014 2.0T, 93 octane, as I mentioned above. As I recall, they can be tuned for 89 and 91 Octane, just less HP. You can get these, and/info from K5Optima Store. I had a 91 Oct tune on my 2014 Sonata SE 2.0T, and then put it on my 2013 Gen Coupe RSpec. Probably 50k trouble free miles. Dad prolly has 25k miles and running strong.

I sold it to some a$$hole, Bonsai in Arkansas and he never paid me.

wow that sounds pretty cool, i have alphaspeed tune. comes with a lot of cool nannies like pops & bangs, increased rev limiter to 7200, launch control, and idk how they manage to tune this car so good but in the high rpm range (6000-7200) the car does not fall on it face that thing keeps pulling hard asffff, is definitely recommend a tune from them
