I'm not sure if I'm going to be doing an actual DIY video on the fans but shoot me a PM or message me on Facebook and I'll give you a wiring diagram on the various options.
The low-speed resistor is deleted, it's not needed unless you're using three-wire fans.
Most 11~12" fans fit, we've even had some people use Permacool 40A fans with relays and they fit just fine. Based on those pictures, those fans would work just fine as well

Oh yea, also need to know the situation with the coolant tank. I think I've seen May-June time frame but did not see the price. If the price is right, I don't mind driving with a water bottle until then.
Here's my thread where I almost pushed the trigger on the tank I found https://www.gencoupe.com/2-0t-discuss...ks-anyone.html

I have a few questions here:
1) When do you guys plan on having the DIY done for the wiring. Mainly I am concerned about the voltage drop resistor and whether if it has to be pointing towards the actual radiator. Is it still utilized with your product?
2) I have some 12" fans laying around from my previous car, can I utilize them with your shroud? They look like this:

Guessing I got your FB message before your one here.
To other people with the same question, no I don't, I only have pictures of them on aftermarket radiators atm and generally with other extensive engine modifications, though we didn't run into any issues test fitting on any stock cars.

|elementrider87||Snoopy do you have any pics of it installed with the stock rad in the car? does it cool exactly like stock? Im thinking this might be the way to go instead of geting an upgraded radiator......|

|Snoopy0812||It's very hard to know for certain since there are a lot of different ways to measure it, but it's roughly 800~1000 on low and about 1600 on high.|

|TeamKT||My shroud is arriving any day now. Happen to know the CFM of the stock radiator fan|

|JGowen||I am all about it, full package with fans and everything! All the awesome!|

We have now completed the 3.8L Shrouds for 2010 and also 2013 2T and 3.8 Models
First Picture was the start of Manufacture
INSTALLED PICS OF OEM RAD!!

We did real world testing.
The coolant temp ran just as cold on the highway without those holes as with them.
The coolant temp ran quite a bit hotter with those holes than without them at low speeds / idling.
A/C got colder without the holes than with the holes under all testing conditions.
Testing was done both with my corner mounted intercooler heat exchangers and my front mounted monster heat exchangers.

|Tyr||I'm excited for this but weren't you guys just arguing about the vent holes in the corners and how having them is more efficient but now there aren't any. What gives?|

Many people expressed that they wanted to use their own or very specific fans with it. Also that they already had an aftermarket reservoir that they're using and just want a shroud to mount fans cleanly and maximize fan to radiator surface area.
Rob and I have had very lengthy conversations about what different people would want and rather than make everyone wait for additional parts, those that want the bare bones can simply order the shroud now. Those that wanted included fans, message Rob, he can order any fans you want, from affordable generic ones to Mishimoto all the way up to Flex-a-lite and SPAL. Just note though, peak or start up current can't exceed 18~20amps per fan otherwise you for certain have to run a relay kit. Wiring diagrams will be done here shortly for those DIY type of people. For those non-DIY'ers, we're working on sourcing OE plugs for plug-n-play kits, but it will come later. For those non-DIY'ers, professional installation is suggested as they are a high current device.
As for reservoirs, we've discussed this too and there is discussions going on now on how we want to deal with this and ultimately it'll be feedback like yours that will help make that decision.
Do you want an affordable generic bottle that just does the job or do you want a custom welded aluminium tank that looks as good as the rest of it does?

|Bevo Lotti||Are there instructions to do that? Also, why would most want just the shroud and not a complete kit? Back when this started I was under the impression it would be better to get the whole thing instead of sourcing parts to put on the shroud. Either way, what an OTD price on shroud, fans and new reservoir?|
|02-05-2015 04:57 PM|
No you would have to relocate your Tank to the side

|Jimmy C||Forgot to ask if this setup will be able to use oe reservoir in the time being|
|02-05-2015 03:39 PM|
|Jimmy C||Rob do you have the entire kit , fans wiring ready to go ?|
|02-05-2015 03:15 PM|
Yes Finally I agree
At the moment we wont have a GB unless we can hit over 50 people for the price to slightly drop or do free shipping
Retail will eventually be slightly higher as were offering them at a discount price ATM

|Bevo Lotti||Finally! Plan on doing a group buy? :-D|
