(Do not compare a VT GDI with the 3.8 BK2 GDI. Different beasts.)

GDI in refrence to cylinder atmospheres/high compression/presence of water/detonation.

**The same. (If there is a cylinder environmental difference, ours 3.8 is worse than the 1.6 T-GDI,..our cylinder compression is higher). So the need for pure meth is greater. Point was he knows his stuff.

I have done both for extended on both types personally now. The evidence is conclusive and academic.

True about the phone calls and personal skills. I did call him "the soup nazi".

Be fair, the VT was blowing itself up everywhere for the first few years of its run. Even without Torkme.

Here we go again !

He flat out lied to my face and my engine builder's face...after he tried to charge 4x the cost for the dangle. When we called him out on his abilities, he said he would learn what he needed to to try and tune my car. Sorry, I was not gonna be the guinea pig first timer...

He also had poor communication skills in returning calls and messages.

Aren't both scenarios simultaneously possible? The guy can be a dirtbag, while being good at tuning. He can also be a well-educated ass. You don't get to making good omelettes without breaking tubos, erm... eggs.

I really dig Spokane. It has a cool "Reno" vibe these days. And yes, I like Reno. It's a fun place with ample nearby natural beauty, friendly normal people, and doesn't take itself too seriously. I don't know much about Seattle's car scene. Last time I was there I flew, and only rented a car to get out to Steven's Pass/Leavenworth. The most car scene thing we did was go for a ride with a crazy gay kid who was a friend of a friend, and blast through a whole lot of jumps and stoplights. Little dude was nutz! As far as the SeaTac/Everett/Bellingham crowd goes, they can be uppity and all, but it's like they have the credentials to be so. And they tend more to live in alignment with their opinions. I can respect that. Two-Faced Two-Tiered CA is seriously lacking that.

Only time will tell where I land. I'm fond of all of them. Of course, Spokane/N.Idaho have a nearby decent road course and sub-hour drives to ski resorts.

And on the Socio-Political thing, we all know that the activist left are the loudest, so they show more. I'm sure there's moderate and even conservative types(maybe even classical liberal/libertarians like me) a plenty even in a "Mos Eisley" like Olympia. lol.

Ugh, I just wish somewhere in the Mountain West had California's plentiful, majestic, twisty, unreasonable, EMPTY, and diverse roads, and Washington's level of road maintenance. HAhhahaha. Whenever I'm scouting maps for new and interesting road trips outside CA, 2/3 of the nifty looking ribbons are unpaved. The majority impassible by a GenCoupe...
