  1. Continental extreme contact DWS 06. WARNING

Wheels, Tires and Brakes 2013 and up
I have enjoyed an excellent experience with my Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires. I have been running them for several years and mine are quiet, provide very good handling, and a comfortable ride.
  2. 2013 Genesis Coupe vs the competition - Comparison thread

    General Discussion
Automatic transmissions have improved significantly. Some of the road tests done in "Car and Driver" report better quarter mile times with an AT in the same car. And, not everyone operates a MT as well as they should.
  3. 2013 Genesis Coupe vs the competition - Comparison thread

    General Discussion
Did the 2011 have a MT?
  4. Opinions on Tire Stretch

    General Discussion
I dislike stretched tires. They look bad, expose your wheels to rim scrapes (i.e. curb rash), and are unsafe if you stretch excessively.
  5. Best tires

    General Discussion
My Conti's are not on a Genesis Coupe, but rather I am running them on a 350z. The sizes are 245/40-18 Front, and 275/40-18 Rear. The 350z has a reputation for wearing tires. I quit mounting summer performance tires because they are expensive and wore so quickly on my car. The Continental DWS...
  6. Best tires

    General Discussion
I have run my Conti' DWS tires 19k miles. They still have good tread.
  7. Best tires

    General Discussion
I have had a very good experience with Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires. They do not perform as well as Extreme Summer tires in warm weather on dry pavement, but I except trade-off this because I run the all-season tires in the "shoulder season" (November and March in Minnesota) before I...
  8. What did you do to your Genesis Coupe today?

    General Discussion
Great looking car! I didn't think I could do red again, but this pic makes me reconsider my color choice.
  9. new wheels

Wheels, Tires and Brakes 2013 and up
18x9.5 +10 is probably closer to what you want. 18x11 +8 will "poke out" slightly on the rear and 18x9 +33 will be "sunken in" on the front. 18x9.5 +10 will fit on the front and rear, and this wheel size is versatile enough to accomodate a wide range of tire sizes. For example: You could mount...
  10. Sidewall increase

Wheels, Tires and Brakes 2013 and up
Gaijinn is correct. Staying near 2.5% is probably safe. Also the new tire sizes preserve the front-to-rear size ratio which means your TCS (which compares front-to-rear speed ratios) will function normally. Where you could possibly experience minor problems is the ABS function.
  11. tire size for stock 18's

Wheels, Tires and Brakes 2013 and up
You mention wanting a 40 sidewall (I would like to go with the 40 sidewall..."), but you didn't say why. It's important to note that the sidewall value represents an aspect ratio and is not the actual physical height of the tire's sidewall.
  12. Possible leaking head gasket?

    3.8 V6 Discussion 2013 and up
If you are not seeing white exhaust, it probably is not the head gasket. Misfires that are consistent to specific cylinders is often an indication of a faulty ignition coil pack.

    Like the color.
  14. Need help with wheels and tires

Wheels, Tires and Brakes 2013 and up
I have always wanted a diesel truck but never had a reason to own one. My best wishes on your rebuild. I'm sure that it will be worth the effort. Diesel engines tend to live on and on (rebuild after rebuild). I did own a VW Quantum diesel with a MT. I loved the huge torque (I could start from...
  15. Need help with wheels and tires

Wheels, Tires and Brakes 2013 and up
You went from a diesel truck to a small car? For tires and wheels… Front: Go with 8.5” to 9.5” wide wheels with 15 to 20 mm offset, and tire width of 245 to 255 mm Rear: Mount 9.5” to 10.5” wide wheels with 15 to 20 mm offset, and tire width of 275 to 285 mm The actual tire size will vary...

Any reason you want a 2010? I would look for something a little newer. As for wheel selection… 19” wheels are for show. This size is attractive, but they are heavy. 17” wheels are good for the track, driving comfort, and a large selection of tires (especially snow tires if you drive during...

Congrats on a low mileage car. Is your car MT or AT? I don't see (and cannot get to) the images using the link in your message.

yes... it is the tire size
  19. Tire pressure light after new tires

Thanks for posting the solution. That way we all learn. I thought that it was probably necessary to recalibrate. That is usually the problem.
  20. Need help with wheel flush

Wheels, Tires and Brakes 2013 and up
mrGainZ points you in the right direction: It is a long thread, but you should read it all. Notice that mrGainZ provides the most helpful Posts (messages) and shows the best examples when achieving a “flush fitment.” Also, in addition to selecting the correct wheel/tire size and offset, you...
