Replacement Pillow Ball Uppers on HSD Coils

So I've been fighting a losing battle with my HSD coils. I have a reoccurring clicking-clunking issue while driving on bumpy or wavy road. I can feel it in my dead-pedal and when I get out of the car and push down on the fender right next to the strut tower I can feel the clunking in my hands. So far I just keep tightening down the top nut which seems to fix it temporarily but it comes back in about a week and a half even with red loctite and that is getting old real fast. It also seems pretty tight already so I'm starting to think maybe its something else. I have already replaced my endlinks with ATQ adjustable ones (I don't recommend them however) and made sure everything I can get to without dropping the whole strut is tight.

So my next plan is to drop the strut, disassemble it, put it all back together with loctite and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, I'm going to buy new pillow ball uppers on the HSD shocks to see if that fixes it. Does anyone have any recommendations for good pillow ball mounts? This is a bit disappointing as the coils have only been on the car about 6.5k

If you looking for endlinks that will last for long time, get JKS 2943 Adjustable Swaybar End Link.

They are made for Jeep, stronger then any Genesis specific end links. Cost $67 on amazon - on sale right now.

If you have stock swaybar, you will have to drill out opening with 1/2" bit because hole is just a bit too smal, aftermarket sway bar has already 1/2" hole to fit them.

I was looking at them for replacements as soon as these atq ones quit. The ACDelco portion of the atq's is all rusty already. The stainless body is fine. Thanks.

I'm just having trouble finding just the upper pillow ball/camber plate portion to buy that will fit on the hsd coils. I saw that cusco may have one but their website is horrible so I'm not sure.

Nuts with plastic locing ring on top side only designed to be used once, so if always a bit loose, then change the nut.

Not sure on your exact set up..made in US...

The hsd setup doesn't have any sort of nylon lock ring or any locking mechanism as far as I can tell.

I saw those, I'm not too familiar with the brand but I'm open to all options. I wonder if it's possible to just swap out the bearing surfaces of the pillow ball and retain the hsd camber plates.

When I pull them apart I'll get some dimensions of all of it. That may be a little bit though since I just screwed up my back a little and am waiting for that to heal up.

Yes, it's best to check the pillow ball bearings for play. They should be nice and tight with no up/down or side to side play.

Ok so disassembled everything, spherical bearings are fine. ID 18mm OD 33mm I think. I forgot the dimensions at work. However I think the source of my noise was not having the two bolts that join the coilover to the knuckle tight enough causing a slight clunking sound.

They are not something you can order from McMaster Carr unfortunately. I have a part number for some that would work. I think they were used in some cusco top hats as well. I'll update with that info.

ID 18mm
OD 33mm
Ball width (flat to flat) 20mm
Racewidth ~16mm

A contender for this size bearing seems to be Eminebea MBW18CR.

Any luck figuring this out?

I've had the same issues with my HSD coils. I haven't been able to figure it out yet.
Just put my car away for winter and said I'll deal with this in the spring.

I'm pretty sure mine were just broken somehow internally. I ended up taking them off and putting bilstein struts and eibach springs on. I may eventually look into the coils again but I spent way too much time screwing with them.
