2010 Genesis Shifter Rattle?

1302 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Lauren
My 2010 premium package genesis coupe 2.0T Manual rattles like CRAZY when I'm racing and rev right around 6800-7200. I literally have to death grip the little shift knob to silence it and keep it from breaking (cause that's what it sound like it's about to do). Anyone else have this issue or may have dealt with it in the past?

Thanks for all your help!

Yessssss only in cold and I don't ever rev that high maybe I go up 2 4 grand it's all the bushings beaing so cold in my professional opinion . Also me 2010 only has grind problems in the cold . On Li it's like 10 degres
Also check your shift knob, the OEM ones have been known to rattle. If it is, remove it by unsnapping the boot & turning it counter clockwise. Once off, flip it over & there should be a phillips screw in there that can be tightened down.
+1 Mine hasn't rattled anymore... but my damn rearview mirror, argh... dealership will take care of it though.

Mine did the same thing for the first 10,000km that I had it..

It's the knob itself... I ended up getting uber pissed off and smacking the top REALLY hard... no more rattling..

Rearview mirror rattle = PISS OFF! My dealer fixed mine, but it started to slightly reoccur before I parked her for the winter.
