Remember what I said about a possible 3.3TT. Guess what I saw...

Go to Blood Type Racings FB page and check out the pics from the Chicago Auto Show. There's a pic of the new unveiled Hyundai 3.3 Twin Turbo engine they believe will be in the new Gen Coupe
I dont have FB, can you post a pic?

Hyundai is saying 365hp and 376lb but even if thats true, a catback and intake with a minor tune puts you at about 400whp even after subtracting 15% drivetrain loss. I think with the competition hitting at the 400hp number Hyundai may bump that power a bit with some larger turbos or more agressive tuning.

appears to be a ~wrinkle in the hood just shy of mid-point

gives the impression of more ground clearance;
the fascia and more visible rear tire. possibly cause they are pushed further out?

It always kills me when I hear people talk about the GC's weight. What exactly does everyone compare her weight to?

370Z curb weight is 3268lb (and no rear seats or usable trunk)
G37 curb weight is 3600lb
GC curb weight with automatic 3600lb
Mustang GT with auto 3700lb
Camaro V6 with stick 3700lb
Audi S5 coupe 4045lb
BMW 335i coupe 3560lb

Is there some miracle car out there that is remotely in the same class and weighs meaningfully less?

This car is not in the same class as a Miata, BRZ, or WRX so please don't post comparisons that make no sense.

Its just a fact, cars are getting heavier by nature. I suspect the GC will be no exception. Which is fine I suppose if the power plant equals it. Just found out the new Infiniti is getting 400HP base and a 450HP option. Which means the new Z will most likely follow suit. A Z, with 450HP??? Are you effing kidding?? Ill be buying another!!

Well, as I've said before, the only way I'm committing to another round of car notes is if its V8 and AWD... and I could possibly be persuaded if its V8 and just RWD. If its true the next-gen will only have smaller-displacement FI engine options, I'll stick with what I've got. I guess I'm old school (even though I'm not old)... much prefer big displacement power to FI.

I'm still holding on to hope that Hyundai moves the coupe more upscale and uses the next-gen sedan chassis (and Tau 5.0). That'd be so sick... 450 naturally-aspirated horsepower in a sub 4000lb coupe :)

Yea, that's not happening. But I wish too. Doesn't a member have a Genny with a tuned LS3 or 7 swap? Must be a beast. Imagine that in a factory setup? Lol. The Hill Climb GC has like a 900hp engine. Insane.
