My daughter bottomed out her car and cracked the transmission pan. I ordered a new pan and getting fluid tomorrow to add to transmission once I replace the pan. Anyone know how much fluid I may have lost out of the transmission pan and the best way to go about adding fluid?

for some reason all auto tranny's Hyundai has in their coupes now don't have an intake so

you can fill the tranny.

the car has to be up on a lift and access is thru a bung hole somewhere on the side of the

tranny and you need a pump to get it into the tranny.

the atf also is very expensive as it is supposed to last 100,000 miles

there is no way to check how much is needed as there is no dip stick

you just have to keep adding till it is full

Shell makes the fluid. They sell it to ZF who bottles it as Lifeguard 6 and want your first born for a bottle of it. Shell also sells the fluid to Ford who bottle it as Mercon SP and sells for around $5 a bottle.

If you want a "Made in Germany" fluid, Pentosin ATF1 sells for around $15 a liter, that has worked fine in the ZF 6HP for years.
