When I'm driving my 2.0 t 2013 in automatic, the engine will start to rev up to 4,000 RPMs and then shift to another gear, I think third gear Even though I'm not pressing on the gas super hard. I'm just trying to shift it smoothly and all of a sudden it bangs up to 4,500 RPMs. Is this common? Should I get it checked out? It just starts to get on my nerves because it doesn't shift properly. Any help would be appreciated

Get it looked at. That kind of revving is burning your fluid and possibly damaging your clutches.

Try cleaning your butterfly/throttle body.
May not be that, but they tend to stick sometimes
