Any ideas on why the car makes a lot of noise when cranking? Am I right in thinking the flywheel is just not pristine or should I wait to see if it breaks in like the clutch?

Sorry for the double post

Not sure. I would take out the starter and look at the gear on the end. The two flywheels and starters are different as far as the tooth shape on the flywheel. The BK2 starter may be different as far as matching to the tooth shape. The BK2 starter is shorter to so it can come out without taking the motor mount out.

The BK1 starter works OK on my BK 2 flywheel without excessive noise.

I can't really imagine why the starter would be making noise. There was an aftermarket clutch and flywheel before putting the OEM one back on. The only think I can figure would be that whoever installed the aftermarket kit may have changed the starter too but I wouldn't think that'd be necessary.

I believe this is what was on it that had to be replaced.

I had the BK2 clutch put in m BK1. Much better than the Competition Clutch I had which I put in when my OE BK1 clutch started slipping. Seems to be a bit grabby now. I need to adjust my clutch cylinder rod so it releases closer to the floor.

But 1000X better than the Competition Clutch.
Same part. Rockauto and the Auto7 one is the cheapest. They are all the same too no matter who is selling them.
ooof some years Old sorry but nobody is talking about it but I was interested. I can just buythe clutch with flywheel and tob and everything would bolt up ? I’m seeing a nice stage 2 I wanna get since after my tune I’ve been slippin .

Was there much diffrence in the clutch pedal engagement point? I have the ajustable clutch rod and the guy who put in the OE BK2 clutch said he had to adjust it quite a bit. I did have a PO S CC clutch in it before.

i have stock clutch rod and it deffinitly felt like it engaged much earlier but, im so used to it now it feels natural. but it was definitely 2 steps better than bk1 clutch/flywheel.
