I bought CCC reports for dealer invoice pricing and posted all models of the gencoupe. These reports only give the invoice price so you still need to add tax, license fees etc... Also remember that almost no dealer will give you invoice pricing. A general rule is to mark up 3 to 6% on top of the invoice price as your offer to buy the car.

When calculating final price of the car, add the invoice price + Freight + $204.80 (Other taxes and levies). The tax is then based off of the total amount of the 3 amounts added together.

Hey!
Thanks Alot COWCOW

This is very useful stuff!

But I just wanted to ask, since its probably the same for all the models, can you post the incentives that are attached as well?

I believe theres a 1000 factory to dealership rebate going on... anything else?

Thanks COWCOW

I think we all really appreciate this
The $1000 dollar invoice is only if you pay cash. The other 2 incentives are the grad rebate ($500) and clean air rebate ($500). You can read about it on the hyundai site. If anything changes tomorrow (June) I will post it.

Sweet, got mine for 160 dollars under invoice lol
I went to Thornhill Hyundai to negotiate and was shut down on the price so I walked. I told him I knew someone who picked up a 3.8gt for $38000 all in from Richmond Hill Hyundai and he said that it was impossible and most likely the salesman got fired. Oh well, time to shop at another dealer.

At least i finally got to test drive a genesis coupe although it was a 2.0t auto. :( Still alot better than the family cars though :) I finally understand all the rave reviews on this car.

$4500 discount (2.0t base manual) when paying with cash
$3000 discount (all other models) when paying with cash

You got a PM.

cowcow,

New member, near purchase!

You mentioned you had connections, any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the CCC. That should help. According to your info and for a 3.8 GT with Nav (none have it here at the local dealership, which means they will have to ship it in), I should ask for about 3 - 6% over 33, 850.

$34, 500 is a reasonable start?

Thanks!!

Wow, great stuff!

I'm going to stay and contribute to this site now, thanks!

Is there a new thread to post newbie questions on?
If it's just a general question, then ask it in the general discussion or in one of the sub forums (engine etc.) if it relates to it. Also try to search for the answer first since it may already be somewhere on the forums.

Also, the prices I quoted you include freight and A/C tax.

$34 300 (with freight and ac tax) is what I got him to do for a 3.8 Manual w/ Navigation.

It's reasonable I think.
The contact I PMed you with can get you a lower price. I got my car for $300 over invoice. He's also the sales manager of the dealership.

Great post. You should always shop around when buying something as expensive as a car. Dealers are looking to move cars since they get inventives per month depending on if they reach a quota.

Shao,

All dealerships will be able to beat the others price. It's jsut a matter of how much they beat it by.

One other thing to look for is admin fees. Sometimes dealers will say "ok I can give you this price". They go to do a bill of sale and then go, "oh, we also have an admin fee of $xxx" which is basically profit for them.

The dealership is actually no in downtown but right off the 401 around yorkdale mall.

I'm not trying to make it look like the contact I PMed you is the best. There are also other dealership out there that are just as honest and willing to give you a very good price. I went to another great dealership when shopping around for my car but chose a specific one since a friend reffered me to them.

LOL, free ipod cable. The car comes with one and I never paid for it. Same with carpeted floor mats. Good job on the price though

Hey guys. I finalized a deal yesterday.

I negoiated for 3 weeks at 6 different dealerships. Basically I called a new dealership whenever I got a new deal. I finally settled on a 2.0t auto base at the following terms:

26300 out the door ( yes that is $16 over the invoice)

Free tint job w warranty.

Omiv, gas tax, other crap were all included in the 26300.

Attrell Hyundai actually offer a bit better by having all the above plus a free iPod cable. But Attrell told me they couldn't get their hands on the colour I want. I was forced to walk out.

Even the dealership now can't gurantee that I get the colour I want ( black) but if not, I will settle for either white or silver.

That's my story guys. Took a month to get from 27950 to 26300 w a free tint. All other 5 dealerships said if I got that deal, I should grab it and run. I guess my advice to everyone is email dealerships and ask them if they can beat deals. It's easier and u feel
less pressure.

I remember reading it on here somewhere. I never ordered the cable and it was sitting in the glovebox when I picked up my car.

The difference between this cable and your other ipod cable is this one is hyundai made and has both the aux and usb conenctor mated into one for the connection at the car.

does it really come with free ipod cable? it shows it as $60cdn on the site

i saw it with the 2.0t premium but figure it didnt come with the 2.0t base

i already have a few ipod usb cables, whats the difference in this one?

i asked for winter mats but they only wanted to sell at dealer cost...

nice job at 26300, where did you go? now im hitting myself at 26500 lol and i didnt even get tint (thats gonna be 200-250 out of my own pocket) but then again i only spent 1 hour at only 1 place

looking for a based 3.8 6MT. Will only consider a 3.8L with 6MT. Can be used then i'd expect to pay less.

I got a dealer for 3% over invoice, but theyre tagging on the $500admin/etching/profit fee which brings it to $33.5~ i think out the door.

is any dealer selling without that $500 tagged on? looking for red[pref]. or white or blue.
Where are you located? I bought my car for $300 over invoice without any extra fees.

I'm from markham too. The dealer is wrong in this case as you get the $4000 cash discount and only pay $300 on top of invoice. In your case of a 3.8mt, you should pay.

Invoice $30,603.00
Freight $1,565.00
A/C Tax $100.00
Markup $300
Cash Discount (before tax) -$4,000

Total $28,568
Total with tax $32,281
Licensing ~$100
Other fees (required) ~$100

Total Out the Door Price $32,481.84

I also emailed you at [email protected] with other details. (let me know if that's your email)

Woah Woah Woah....

So with #s posted here... $26300 OTD?
As in HST included?.... meaning $22881 before?
:dunno::woah::eek:

PS. DVN has: base A/T MB as demo (with US spec spoiler), 4 Premium M/T Red that I saw in the back (one might be a base if i remember correctly)

Which model are you taking about for the 26300 OTD? You can easily pick up a premium manual with a $3000 cash discount for $28300 OTD.

But didn't you say you got 3.5 financing with kingcross? I'm confused...is the cash discount given for any new vehicle GC bought including 3.8 or is it given if you pay cash? :dunno:
I will run a carcostcanada report for you and see if it changed.

EDIT:

The $3000 cash discount is for the 2.0t.
If you buy a 3.8, you get either $4000 cash discount or finance at 0% + $1000 discount.

This is how it works, Hyundai Canada either pays your interest for you when you select 0% financing or they pay you the $3000/$4000 when you select the cash discount. If you choose the cash discount as ericxd did, you have to pay the full amount in cash to the dealer. If you have the cash in your bank account, then you jsut give them a certified cheque when you pickup the car. However, if you don't have the full amount in the bank, you can either choose to get loan/finance on your own or have the dealer get it for you. If you go through the dealer, the lowest rate they can give you is 3.15% if you choose the cash discount depending on your credit score.

Here's the full report:

Retail Price * Wholesale Price**
Base $36,495.00 $33,850.00
Freight $1,565.00 $1,565.00
Optional equipment selected
- FEDERAL AIR CONDITIONING EXCISE TAX (-EXTAX) $100.00 $100.00
- INTERLAGOS YELLOW *Late Availability* (NFA) $0.00 $0.00
- STANDARD PAINT (-PAINT) $0.00 $0.00
- BLACK, LEATHER SEAT TRIM (9P) $0.00 $0.00
Totals including all items above $38,160.00 $35,515.00

*Retail Price - Also referred to as the M.S.R.P. or Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price or Retail Factory Price. The price the dealer wants you to pay.

** Wholesale Price - Also referred to as the Dealer Invoice Price, Dealer Factory Price or Dealer Cost. The price the dealer pays for the car, before adjusting for any applicable Factory Incentives. To start your negotiations, take this number, add a fair dealer markup/profit (3%-6% on most cars) and deduct any applicable factory incentive below.

i'm looking for a 3.8gt with nav.
I would prefer auto since i've read on here that it's actually better in this model. But I don't mind manual and for a good price would gladly take one.
I will be financing
3.8 gt Manual (0% financing)

Invoice: 33,850
Freight: 1,565
A/C Tax: 100
Markup: 300
Discount (Hyundai Canada incentive): 1000
Subtotal: 34,815

34,815 * 1.13 + 300 = $39,640.95 OTD

3.8 gt Auto (0% financing)

Invoice: 35,508
Freight: 1,565
A/C Tax: 100
Markup: 300
Discount (Hyundai Canada incentive): 1000
Subtotal: 36,473

36,473 * 1.13 + 300 = $41,514.49 OTD

This is if you take the 0% financing for 60 months. The $1000 discount is stackable with the 0% financing. There's also a $4000 cash discount if you choose to pay for the car in full in cash. If you choose to finance at the dealer while financing at the same time, you can finance at a rate of 3.15%.

3.8 gt Manual ($4000 cash discount, 3.15% financing)

Invoice: 33,850
Freight: 1,565
A/C Tax: 100
Markup: 300
Discount (Hyundai Canada incentive): 4000
Subtotal: 31,815

31,815 * 1.13 + 300 = $36,250.95 OTD

Total cost including interest: $36,250.95 + $3584.49 = $39,835.44

3.8 gt Auto ($4000 cash discount, 3.15% financing)

Invoice: 35,508
Freight: 1,565
A/C Tax: 100
Markup: 300
Discount (Hyundai Canada incentive): 4000
Subtotal: 33,473

33,473 * 1.13 + 300 = $38,124.49 OTD

Total cost including interest: $38,124.49 + $3769.43 = $41,893.92

Whether you pick the 0% financing or the $4000 cash discount with 3.15% financing depends on if you will have a down payment. You can then recalculate the final cost and see which one saves you more money in the end. I used this to calculate the amount of interest:

wow, thanks so much

I'm thinking about getting a demo though if i can get it at a good price
You may be able to get a slight discount though I don't have experience in buying a demo car. Keep in mind if you buy a demo car, you're still eligible for either the 0% financing for 60% or $4000 cash discount on cash purchases.
