So have 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8L. 82K miles. Check engine light just came on, not flashing. Car is well serviced. Recently had oil change but no reset was done... What should I do to find what the code is? AAMCO, local Advanced auto to determine code...?

Most auto parts stores will read your OBDII codes. Write it down and let them clear it. If it comes back after two starts then it needs to be addressed.

So, got Code: P0456. Evaporative Emission System leak detected (very small leak). Check gas cap, restarted car twice still has check engine light. Should I take to expensive Hyundai dealer for service or smaller mechanic???

Did you check the gas cap? Sometimes a bit of dirt or rust bulds up preventing it from sealing. A light coat of grease on the filler pipe helps seal.

Vaseline would work better. Make sure the surface is smooth too. On my old Accent I had to sand it and spray some clear coat on it.

RR, sounds like I might be making an appointment with a mechanic. Tried vasoline and clear coat, not removing code... Thanks for all the suggestions, hope it isn't crazy expensive... uggghhh!
