Does anybody know if the diff from the 4.6l sedan will fit in the gencoupe?

It has a final drive of 3.13:1

Good thought but I highly doubt it will work. I don't really know of any Genesis sedan parts that work on the coupe
Yeah, was just a thought. Remembered most of the journalist stating that the sedan and the coupe shared pretty much the same rear ends. Plus the extra "missing" bold for the diff, that they would of used for the sedan. Just thought someone would know
double checking part numbers. They have the same case. So I am 70% sure it will fit.

Now just to find one......
Why?

Fill out your signature and location please.
Ummm. Look at name. Come to own conclusion :p
Arkansas! ;) *insert toothless icon here*

What model GC do you have?

The reason I ask is that I am trying to find someone to swap rear differentials with. My model had 3.54 ratio. A Track 2.0 would have a 3.90 and is what I'd like to swap to.
Hmmm....

You're onto something here.
Arkansas is AR foo :p lol
try again.

I have a 2.0t premo, but it came with a lsd already. Got one of the odd ball cars :p

Higher number final drive = X.XX number of input rotation to 1 axel rotation.

So for you wanting a higher final drive it would mean, more torque, BUT lower top speed, more shifting at lower speeds, and loosing gas milage (higher RPM at the same speed, compared to the stock setup).

Lower final drive, would mean that I loose torque but gain everything else. Torque can always be added with more power later. :p
AK, I am 90% sure the 4.6 diff will work with the GC. From what I've seen, the dimensions and mounting setup is the same.

I will pm you something that is to be kept between you and I. ;)
how do you have an LSD on a 2.0T premium...highly unlikely scenario.
Some countries (and Alaska) in this case get different versions of the car. Kinda like how the US only gets an LSD on the track models whereas the Canadian versions of the 3.8 and the 2.0t GT get an LSD.
that makes sense when you explain it that way.

The statement "got one of the odd ball cars" implies a mistake at the factory, this is what I was refering to as highly unlikely

It was a joke. I know that AK is Alaska. But understand that it's easy to think that maybe your heart is in AK, but we can't assume that you and your car are when it's in your UserName but not in your signature.

I'm fully aware what swapping from my 3.54s to 3.90s will do. I will give up mpg at anything over about 70mph; plus I'll be shifting more. But I want the improved acceleration for basically free if I can swap w/ someone. It's either that or I need a turbo kit. The 2.0s will gain a needed spread out of 1st-3rd gear, less shifting around town, and improved mpg on the highway.
3.1 seems like it would make the 5-speed slooooow
I don't think it will make it that slow.

1 gear is basically non existent the way it is now, plus power can be added later.
I think AK has a good idea. I might do the same to my LS GC...
any updates as to if anyone has completed the swap - and if so, any further opinions as to the outcome?
I am still working on sourcing a genesis v8 sedan diff. :)
subscribbled.
