The "Tech Exchange" section has apparently taken a vacation, so I'm copying this to the DIY section because I'm still getting requests for this
The Homelink mirror is a small luxury that you can add to your Base model coupe that will only cost you about $75. The install is not hard at all and only took me about an hour from start to finish. Don't forget that you are working on your car's electrical system so make sure you disconnect your battery.
Materials:
Step 1: Solder some lengthy wires onto your pigtail for the mirror. I measured about 6ft so I knew I'd have enough.
This is what the pigtail looks like:
And this is the pin-out of the connector:
Now slide the regular mirror off. Here's a vid that my friend Goldfish did on removing it (click to play):
Slide Homelink mirror onto stock mounting location so you can measure when it's time to cut your pigtail wire to length.
Step 2:
DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY BY REMOVING THE (-) TERMINAL!!
Take off the driver's side a-pillar trim. Do this by popping out the SRS tab with a trim removal tool of your choice. Be careful because the trim will scar easily.
Step 3:
Remove the 3 visor screws on the driver's side.

Step 4:
Remove the two screws inside the sunglasses holder in the center of the roof is.
Now pull down on the holder and it will pop out.
Congratulations, you now have access to all of the wires you need and a way to route them above the headliner!
Step 5:
Unplug this connector (it will make it easier for you to apply wire taps):
Step 6:
Route your new, long pigtail so that the connector for the mirror is sticking out of the headliner and the REVERSE and KEYED SWITCH wires are routed to the A-pillar:
and the 12V CONSTANT and GROUND wires are coming to the map light area:
Step 7:
Cut wire to length and make connections at A-pillar:
Step 8:

Step 9:
Plug everything back in and make sure wires are all hidden and secure, the reinstall the sunglass holding apparatus, and the A-Pillar trim.
