Did you put a block off plate without having a new place to put the bov? Can you research why a bov is needed in a turbo application? Then you'll see why you're getting the flutter you love so much.

Hope you are trolling.

Not trolling. Do your own research. Flutter vs surge. A bov isnt mandatory. People have went 15+ years without a bov/ bpv running same turbo. It barley harms most people will tell you myths about it.

Did my research. Not on turbos, but on you. I get that we can run a BOV-less setup, but you must explain early on why you are ok with doing this.

You don't care much for the car you're doing it to, and understand that the turbo will fail early. This should be something that is explained when you're posting something like this.

Inform the new guys that are 18 and just had their dads buy them one because they might not do good research on how turbo systems work.

There are more damaging things that destroy a turbos. like if you have really dirty oil, a really clogged catalytic converter, low oil, high exhaust gas temps, not letting your turbo cool down after beating the piss out of it and just shutting off the car like alot of people do all the time. Its not like you dont run a bov and your turbo is blown in 6 months. I'm more doing this as a experiment that has not been documented enough on these cars. Im running a stock tune so it would be more safe than if it was tuned

Got this code when i did the bov bypass. Went back to stock. It went away. Then i added a block off plate and it happened again. just tried this mod. If i get check engine light will update
Hey man how are you? Seen your short videos on youtube. Yes you will continue to get a cell when you run a block off plate and not correctly bypass the stock bpv. Obviously reason being "As you already know" your changing or modifying something or adding/removing a part that the factory never intended for use running the stock parameters.
Remember the R&D and the engineers that designed and developed the car and ecu in general have hundreds of millions of dollars and time invested to assure a quality product for the end user. Our Ecu's are very smart and can, and will detect any type of problem and throw a code when it see's or recognizes something thats out of the ordinary in order to avoid or prevent damage.
If you ever read the history on this forum in regards to the multiple company's that tried and attempted to "crack" the stock ecu and failed you will see why they decided to call it quits and move on to another platform. This alone will show you just how smart and complex the ecu is on the gen coupe.

It's no wonder you got the code P2261 then as it points to a mechanical issue with the BOV.
would a tune be able to disable the code. i want flutter.

When you remove the stock o2 housing and run a full Tbe you will get a cell eventually. In order to remove the cell you would need to get a tune. With that being said "if im not mistaken", getting a tune for your particular code P2261 will not turn off the cell. Remember just because you get a tune, it doesnt mean that the stock ecu parameters will work or act differently because of the tune. All the stock safety parameters will work accordingly like they should. Also the flutter sound your looking for is from a bov or one of those bov sound plates like you got now. If you want the nice flutter sound get the Tial Bov it has that sound. My boy has one on his bk1 and it sounds wicked, it sounds way better then the Hks bov not to mention the quality is better.

Hi All,
I was having the " P2261 - Turbocharger/Supercharger Bypass Valve - Mechanical " ecu error code you get when switching to an aftermarket BOV and running line directly to IM, however mine never through a CEL. But I have found the problem why it was causing this and have found a fix for this issue. Not sure if it's the same for the 2013 as I've never looked at their boost/vacuum solenoids.

PROBLEM: Capping the boost solenoid BPV port with a vacuum nipple cap. This was making the ECU think it's "stuck" closed as it's not getting any response from this port anymore.

FIX: Remove the cap, add a hose to it like normal, but T into the existing vacuum/boost line right under it.

Hey!

Ive been reading up on your thread for this P2261 issue! Do you mind re-posting the photos for this exact thread, I can't see them please. Thanks so much. I dont understand much in terms of this issue but im trying to get it so i can remove the engine light.

I also have a light for p0170 and i dont know what thats for. But in any case, if you dont mind reposting the photos that would be amazing.

Thanks, I think my P2261 code is giving my ecu think it may need a different fuel to air composition, so it send a different composition...causing that code. I’m gonna go back to stock for my bov vacuum lines...
