Double-din after market head unit - done
So i finally got this head unit installed after a bunch of headaches.
What I used:
Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS head unit
Metra dash kit for 2013+ Genesis (thanks GcoupeS for the link)
ASWC-1 interface to keep the steering wheel controls
Pioneer CD AH200C for Android
Microbypass parking break bypass
I didnt take many pics through the process but it's pretty straight forward and probably similar to the 1st gen Genesis head unit swap process
I used a dremel to cut out the top of the small pocket where you'd normally plug in an iPod to run my iPod cable and cable for Android. Using the AR Liberator app i can mirror my Galaxy Nexus screen for navigation and whatever else.
Let me just say this was a huge pain in the ass though.
The final product:
What is seen on the stock blue screen with an aftermarket head unit:
I had replaced all of the stock speakers with Alpine components in the front and Alpine Type R speakers in the back. With the stock head unit they sounded worse than stock speakers, but with the 4x50w the aftermarket HU provides it sounds awesome.
