Driver's Window not working at all

I went to the Post office 1/28/11 and pushed the button to roll down my window to mail some bills, it made a most terrible grinding sound and the window just fell to the bottom of the door. Tried to make it go up with the switch but it just made more grinding nosie, window did not go up at all.
Since I had to go out of town that morning I was able to pull it up manually and kind of hold it up by using a few pieces of duct tape.
I am taking it to the dealer this morning.
I have had this car 14 months and only roll the window down and up about 3 to 5 times a month. Makes me wonder about quality of Coupe! My previous car (Honda Accord) had 4 power windows and in the 11 years I owned it never had a problem with any window opetation.

Broken window regulator - covered 5/60.
You can't compare a Hyundai to a Honda. Or a Chevy to a Subaru... you just can't. They're manufactured differently, quality tested differently - they are compeltely different

So far I am impressed with how solidly built the Genesis is.. it's amazing to drive despite a few creaks and issues I've had.

Also have to keep in mind, the car has only been out for 2 years now (maybe a bit longer) the engineers and whoever are still going to be changing things to fine tune the vehicle and smooth out common defects and prevent new ones from ocurring.

Also, I remember when I was at Mercedes-Benz there was a 90,000$ G-class that came in and it needed both rear window motors. It had 20,000km on it.... it can happen to ANY vehicle.
Unrelated but still a window issue. I've noticed that my window won't adjust properly when opening and closing the door so I have to push the button to roll it down or up after I start it, otherwise I'll hear wind coming in. On top of that, the overhead lights won't come on either when opening it after it sitting for awhile.
Jason, there might be an issue with the window track or with the actual motor itself which makes it go up and down slightly when opening the doors..

Our windows have some adjustment, not much but some. So you could take it to the dealer & have them adjust it for ya if you are still within adjustment warranty.

As for the dome lamp, check & make sure you have the switch overhead positioned to door & when the door is ajar, it will illuminate. If you already have it in that position, one of your door pin switches is probably faulty.
It's on, and the lights and window will work if the car is on, it's just that they won't work properly if the car has been sitting for a bit. Didn't start having (or noticing?) these issues till a couple of weeks ago. But yeah, it's a new car so when I get a chance, I'll bring it in (steering wheel needs to be adjusted by a few degrees as it's off-center as well).
Stupid question: is the knob on the center of the dome light set correct? IE: left is ON, center position is when doors open, right is OFF?
Yes, it's set to come on when doors open, and does work correctly (sometimes).
finally fixed

My Hyundai dealer service dept. got to me right away, it was the regulator, they were going to overnight it from Dallas (I am in Austin). It finally came in Thurs. afternoon, car was ready by 5pm. Traffic at that time is impossible so I went in this afternoon to get my car back.
Austin had ice storm Fri. morning so i stayed home till it melted at 2pm.
Bad weather caused the overnight? delay. Or maybe it was the Steelers that were in Dallas for the Superbowl ? (stealers??)
My service gave me a loaner (Genesis Sedan !) so all was ok. Liked the Gen Sedan, quite a luxury car. But I still enjoy my Coupe the best!
I had my window motor replaced on the passenger side at only 1k miles.
