i have an intake and exhaust and when i give it a lot of gas at low rps it makes this fluttering noise untill the rpms get higher .....is that just because of my intake?
thanks

same thing happens to me. high gear low rpms and when you give it gas you will hear a light flutter. its the turbo working hard to get u up to speeds. better off down shifting and going into the right gear an no a BOV wont change it i have the HKS kit and i still here the noise it just from putting alot of pressure on the turbo from starting at a low rpm in a high gear. when i first heard it i thought it was a exhaust leak but come to find out it wasn't

doubt it. unless your going around constantly doing it. just try not to slam the gas when ur in a high gear an low rpms. and the ticking noise is common. these cars as well as audi (like your friends) and even lexus ( my friends is250) do it i think even VW since audi is pretty much the same. not sure what it is never looked into it but its nothing to worry about, ive heard it on audis before just not as loud

there you go i did a search for you if you want to know what it is. there is a couple threads talking about it. i never looked at them cause i knew it was normal
I also have the HKS BOV with Injen CAI intake my car is an auto I notice it just like you said low rpms. Just don't gun it real hard and let up it usually doesn't happen. I have asked around and researched on here alot of people have it happen no one has reported any damage yet long term though I would say its probably not healthy just take it a little more easy on the car. I don't know why buy since I installed my ARK exhaust it hasn't happened to me yet KNOCK ON WOOD LOL

lol yea again just dont go around doing it all the time there is no point. and you probably haven't heard it since the exhaust noise is louder then the flutter im assuming
Learned something useful today. Thanks OP for posting the question and all the great answers.

Guess I should use the sport mode to downshift before gunning it. the ATX computer isn't fast enough or wasn't programmed to downshift sooner.

i brought to the dealership cause i had to anyways and it is getting louder and i asked them ans they told me its the fuel injectors breaking in ....kinda weird i have 10,000 miles , would think they wld be broken in by now
I've had my 2013 for 2 days now and about 30 minutes ago we put in a cone filter and deleted the recirculating tube (just capped it). After taking it out for a test run we noticed a similar fluttering sound while accelerating at almost full boost (15psi). It doesn't happen every time I boost but since this is my first turbo car I wanted to make sure it isn't harmful to the engine.

I will keep an eye out to see if it's simply high gear/low rpm's but just wondering if it had anything to do with the recirculating hose and if there is any serious chance of damage.
Why would you cap the recirc hose?
It gives a more audible noise from the BOV... i like to hear the turbo response

Smh. Ok have fun.
I installed a cone filter to my 2013 aswell. I can hear the fluterring noise when its held at max boost for a while.
