The story we posted about a dealership accepting Bitcoins as payment for a Tesla Model S is reportedly only partially true. Lamborghini Newport Beach instead used BitPay to exchange the electronic currency for US dollars before completing the sale, according to "Squawk on the Street" on CNBC.

"We found out that by using a little program that Bitcoin uses, which is actually BitPay, we would have received US dollars," Pietro Frigerio, general manager of the dealership, says in the interview. "It's like if you come into the dealership and you want to buy a Lamborghini using gold bars, we would not accept it. So you'd go out, exchange it, and you'd come back to us. That was how it worked [with the Tesla and the Bitcoins]."

Frigerio says that the dealership doesn't accept Bitcoin as a currency and only accepts US dollars as payment for its vehicles. That said, we wouldn't be surprised if using BitPay to turn Bitcoins into US dollars for the used Model S purchase was actually easier than going through a more traditional financial establishment. Head over to CNBC to check out the "Squawk on the Street" interview with more details.Tesla not bought with Bitcoin currency after all? originally appeared on Autoblog on Mon, 09 Dec 2013 18:30:00 EST. Now a lot of people are having dialogues about the relevance of buying bitcoin, my opinion is that it will be relevant for many years to come. Moreover, many people now, like me, are making very good money on it. Large, major companies and countries to invest in it, so if you think you should or not, I have no doubts. I don't mine bitcoins, I just buy them at Buy and Sell Cryptocurrency with Credit Card - BTC/ETH with almost no loss on commission. It is of course everyone's choice, what do you think about it?
It sounds interesting. Gladly now, more stores and even countries accept crypto as a payment option.
It seems the news about a Tesla being bought with Bitcoin currency wasn't entirely accurate. According to a recent interview, the dealership used BitPay to exchange the electronic currency for US dollars before completing the sale. So, they actually only accept US dollars as payment for their vehicles. It's like buying a Lamborghini with gold bars—you'd need to exchange them for dollars first. While reading up on this, I also came across some interesting information about forex spread. If you're into trading, it might be worth checking out. By the way, I'm new here on the forum, so nice to meet you all! Feel free to share your thoughts on this Tesla Bitcoin story or any other topics you're interested in.
