2) I have both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Geography; Michigan is considered part of the mid-west, although part of the Eastern Time Zone; much like Indiana. Also, no one can argue that the UP is NOT part of the mid-west. Any state that borders Wisconsin is geographically and culturally part of the Mid-West. Then again, you're from Detroit, so why don't you go outside and ask people on the street if they think they're from the East or Mid-West. That is, if you don't get shot.
