well, I guess the title was misleading, it should have said Black OEM tail LIGHT, hehe.

So just to get a comparison of the two we got the first unit on Jays car today for pics, and DAMNIT these look great on his car. The black just ties in all the carbon against the white, and seriously classes up the rear end. Looking at them in person really makes the stocks seem like cheap Ebay "altezza" style lights.

Good news is, we're taking orders now. I'll offer brand new lights, as well as work on lights you send in. The process is terrible, and as many of you know I'm not cheap. PM or post here if you're looking to get this done, and I'll try to schedule you in. I'm doing a ton of extra administrative work around here lately, so I wont have nearly as much time in the shop as I've had lately. Basically this means that I can't really do the work unless the price is right.

I'll be listing the service on GCtuner.com for 450 for starters. But in my typical fashion, I want to get a few cars to hook up with a much better price to get a few people rockin my name on the car. So I'll be taking 3 customers at 200 bucks a pop to do a simple Satin Black finish like these, with a GCtuner sticker inside like our headlights.

Anyway, here's pics, I'll get better ones later lit up at night and with both lights on the car.

Looks great Chris, I was too much of a pansy to break my tails apart to do this.
Since I posted this, I ate lunch, and successfully cut open another tail light perfectly. Its basically something you have to either do all the time, or know EXACTLY where to cut, and where not to. Even after you've cut all the way around the light, you need to cut a bunch extra off to separate the lens. There's little pockets of plastic that have to clear the inside bezel before you can yank it out. Its seriously not for the timid.
Looks great chris and jay!!
That looks MUCH better than stock. How big and where abouts would the GC Tuner logo be?
HUUUUGE!!!!

lol, no just a little guy on the inside lip of the tail light :)

Thanks guys.

Yeah logo there. You'll see on Tuesday probably.

Its so crazy. This line was made pretty much dead on, and it still looks this ruthless and hacked apart.

I just finished sandblasting the bezels on the set that is gonna be on Jays car next week. I can't imagine trying to sand this stuff, it'd take days. I think I spent about 20 minutes just blasting the internals on one side. Cutting it open takes me roughly an hour. Then washing all the parts and getting them prepped to prime takes some time. I'd say before I even touch the lights to add accessories, or paint or anything, I'm already at about 3-4 hours of work.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the crazy ideas people have me do on these. The lights have such a strange shape, so LED strips and Angel Eyes will really set these things off. I want to see a bright color, like Blue or Yellow do a paint matched bezel. Probably look clean :)

Do you have extra sets or would I have to send mine to you to get painted?
chris hit me up i wanna do these with leds inside since my reflectors broke. i think it would look hot on mine with the way i tinted it :)
Just to give you guys an idea what the light output is during night.

Left side is oem chrome Right side is blacked out gctuner style :)

What aftermarket bulbs are in there Jay? I saw at least one LED style bulb in your light I started work on today. Not sure if there are other bulbs aside from your turn signals, but I know all the bulbs in the black light are stock.

The only bulb i changed out was the reverse lights. The rest are oem :)
Right on, we'll need to play with some ideas of using aftermarket LED bulbs. Obviously the big additions will be the small and large Angel Eye rings :) Gonna go for that G35ish look!
Hey chris pm me a price on that setup with a set of the bigger angel eyes and we can make something happen :)
i love the look of this and was going to do it until i found out what a pita they are, maybe if i can get a extra set cheap.

Definitely interested in these. Just need to know if I'll be without tails for a while. Angel eye would probably look pretty sweet too. How much extra for big and little?
I think it'll be pretty cheap for black + Angel Eye for a few of you. Figure somewhere around the 400 dollar mark. They are a huge pain, but if I can do the work quick enough, it keeps the costs down. Maybe I can do a Group buy for a few of you to keep costs down? The hard part would be getting spare lights to work with ahead of time.

If I can get 3 of you guys to do it all at once, payments and tails sent in, I'll do black bezels and Red Angel Eyes big and small for 350 plus return shipping. What I think would be sick, would be a set of Dual color Red Angel Eyes, with an outside ring in Red, and an inside ring, also in red. Hook one set up to the running lights, and the other to the brake lights. So when you hit the brakes, you'll get dual intensity. Whatcha think? Maybe 400 for that setup through a GB?

Nick your lights are gonna look crazy if I do em! I dig the night shades look. I'll probably need to start making vinyl in the shape of the clear middle section so I can offer something like that: Nite Shades on the outside, black bezel and LEDs inside :)
