Nice #s as I mentioned on the other forum, really glad to see more tuning options coming about!

It's flat because their peak boost is only ~13 psi, which makes the 234/252 even more impressive because the boost is relatively low.

However, they did have a relatively high baseline to start with? Still very impressive.
Yeah I agree that their baseline #s were a little high to begin with (esp compared to mine) & only gained about 40whp & 30ft/lbs tq. But when I looked at how flat the the graph was & the psi they were achieving those #s with, I was pretty impressed. I would like to see what Crispeed's #'s would look like at 18psi....hint~hint. MOAR!

Ouch, I was wondering how long it would be B4 we would start seeing sheared axle shafts.

Nice clean break. Well done! Haha.
+1.....

DAMN! That looks like some weak metal right there!

I Expect we will see more of this on other cars...
+1....

Have any of those 400+whp coupes been down the drag stip numerous times though? Not doubting, really don't know... I know Vu made a couple passes at ~375whp but his CM clutch took a dump on one of them.
+10...most of the high HP cars have not been seeing the drag strip on a regular basis.

It appears to be a defective unit. At 530hp, my car ran fine. And that was with the 6.2L swapped into it.
How often are you at the strip?

Was it the side the diff mount is 'missing'? I wonder if there is too much flex for the non mount....

I am also surprised to hear haltck doesn't allow you to raise the rev limiter.
The missing differential mount issue is going to have a solution soon. I'm sending Mike@AwdMotorsports my KPR unit so that they can replicate one similar since KPR is out of business, that way all GenCoupe owners will have opportunity to purchase a 2nd differential mount FTW!

It was but that's not the major reason for the breakage. Sometimes in the heat of the moment you're left foot don't corperate with the brainwave signals it's receiving and sh...t happens. :D

The setup we're using does not have DBW control so the factory ecu is still in charge but not for long like I said above.
Untill Haltech releases their dedicated unit for this application that will overcome all these hurdles and give the user 100% control we got to use what's available to us and work with it. The other easy route which others have taken would involve using a cable TB setup but we're not going that route anytime soon.
I hope it was a fluke as I have enough parts to still purchase on my list that I don't want to be thinking about 1/2 shafts right now. :(

Regarding the 2nd part of your post, I'm truely looking forward to a Haltech plug & play ECU that will have DBW control amongst everything else that you have mentioned. :gc-drool1:

is it expensive to fix this damage (with OEM parts)?
It's always more expensive to fix any damage with OEM parts vs aftermarket parts from my experience. That's why when something breaks of mine, I try to upgrade to a better quality aftermarket part which usually costs less than the OEM counterpart.

But since I work at the dealership in the service dept, I can get a price for the axle shaft Monday when I go back in or even perhaps today since I have to stop by there to see if my slave cylnder/throw out bearing has arrived. It is the only thing holding me back from installing my twin disc. :(

Any idea on final pfice for plug & play total control unit?

Ballpark pricing for the unit... and ballpark custom tuning for it? Im local. :)

...and in need of a better tuning solution asap
x2!!! and im more local!! :D lol please release this soon, ill run over :D
Wish I was local, but to tune this correctly with the guys who actually developed it when the comes times, I can come up with an excuse to go to Florida! :p

The Haltech Pro Plug In ecu for the Gen coupe will be on demonstration at the up coming PRI show in Orlando Florida. They will have a couple of coupes on hand being tested on the dyno!. The unit features a lot of new innovative stuff for the coupe including full DBW control etc.
Please stop by the Haltech booth for more info.

PS. Haltech will be at booth #5553.
