Ground wiring question

1734 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Snoopy0812
Ok I'm sorry if this was already somewhere on here. I couldn't find it, but if someone knows where it is, please just link it.

I wanted to install some footwell lights, but I have never done any wiring before. I know that ground is metal that has a neutral charge. Can someone please give me an example, and explain how to wire it to the example?

Any metal part of the car acts as a ground. Basically the whole shell of the Genesis is one big ground.

^ Exactly.

Just make sure where ever you ground it, it should be grounded to bare metal and not a painted surface.
so an example would be a bolt? would you just loosen the bolt, stuff the ground wire in, then tighten it?
best way would be to undo an existing ground strap (about 20-30 of them in the GC), get a washer ended crimp-on and stick it between the bolt and the existing ground strap.
