Be careful with Beemers. You might want to pick a car that's not such a money pit! :)
I know. You don't maintain them, you support them! Not sure what I will buy and not too worried about it right now.

Mostly all BMWs with a V8, even the M series, have a built-in crankcase grenade. They used copper rod bearing inserts, and they were born to fail!
Best rule of thumb, only buy what you can afford on your own. My income( and credit) allows me on Capital 1 website to borrow 78k. No way I go anywhere near that amount. No car payments are my idea of great! Bought the wife a CTS, and I drive the genesis. The truck is used for household things. All cars paid cash.
2010, bought it second hand at dealer. just rolled 179k
I still have my Genesis Coupe with 131k miles on it, but sadly she had to be moved out of my garage and into my driveway. My garage is now occupied by a new Veloster N with the performance package. I could not part with Gennie. Besides, she has a set of winter shoes. The P Zero's that come with the N are likely unsafe below 40 degrees F.

Hey Tsukuba, congrats. That Veloster N is some ride. Kinda Sorta reminds me of the old Dodge Omni GLH-S, one helluva ride.

Just turned 204k miles on my '13 3.8 track......

Only thing that has cost me... AC compressor and condenser replaced a few weeks ago...

Besides lots of tires and oil..... lol
Nice. I'm only at 115k

Love this car...... keep thinking of replacing it....

But, only want 2 doors... manual tranny, power equal to the 3.8...

Not much out there at an affordable price. :(

If you don't mind a "third" door a VN might fit the bill. Actually, I like the three doors. It's a coupe on the "important" side and useful on the wife's side. The VN is a blast to drive. Don't let FWD fool you.

Not a hatchback fan.... I'm an old sh*t, those are for kids! lol

I am 61 and may have you beat. I bought my first hatch in 1987. I am an amateur musician so I need some hauling capability. The coupe was too beautiful to pass on. My hair started to turn in my 30's so I have a full head of nearly white hair. It is funny the looks I get driving-around the cars that I do. Some kids age but never grow up. :)

I'm 75 and my 2012 3.8 Track will turn over 121,000 miles in a few days! Still looks like right from the showroom. I am a clean freak, so I'm constantly detailing it. Nothing but dealer service all the way to where we are today! My dealer here is great and always treats me right! My service writer is not just a guy I do business with, but a friend! And, yes, I always drive it like I stole it! LOL!
My wife is also a car nut. She had a '67 Vette with a 427 conversion, back when she was in her 20s!

She's my third wife, so she was in her 50s when we met, and she was driving an Oldsmobile 88! Gag! She's great and supports my gearhead habit. The Olds is long gone, but she is still here! LOL!
