HKS Legamax Axleback VS. DC Sports Catback?!?!

Ok, so im torn between these two exhausts. One is a highly recognized brand the other not so much. Both sound and almost look the same. I think i read the HKS is 2.5'' and the DC is 3.0'' (which I understand is better for turbos)

Im plannig on getting the cp-e catless downpipe, and if need be a midpipe. The HKS is $100+ more expensive and since its only axleback it doesnt come with a midpipe. The DC is catback and comes with a midpipe, and is $100+ cheaper.

Should I go with brand name or go with the less expensive one and save money for the dp!??!

Thanks for your help!!

alot of time you just pay for the name. AEM actually owns DC sports so im sure the quality is there.. The HKS looks good but isnt very functional compared to a catback. Why not go with something like Beyond Redlines? or CP-Es catback.. Or Buschur's and buy your own tips that you like... ?
I purchased the DC Sports catback last week. I can't see how people spend as much as they do on these exhausts. I got the full setup for around 550ish shipped.

Fitment is really nice and I couldn't be happier.

I looked at all those but im looking at making a "custom one" i really like the loudnes and besides the cp-e and all the rest were pretty expensive...ahhaah

and after a lot of hearing vid clips etc...i narrowed it down to both of these!

I think the HKS catback (which is an axleback w/ a midpipe) is $100 more...but for that price i'd prefer for my shop to make one for me!!:D
^^ good price and it looks good.... Buschur's is around 600 shipped without tips. Plus side to Buschur's exhaust is that it does replace the secondary cat also ;) I didnt know that when i originally purchased the exhaust, so it was an added bonus lol

Nice I didn't know it was a test pipe also. I purchased the ATP downpipe to get rid of it.
i didnt either until i purchased it :) im glad i bought that catback portion before i bought a downpipe haha

Yeah!!! i just hear the buschur, sounds great but sinced ive narrowed it down, i dont want to keep on complicating myself. And besides i want a LOUD one! hahahah

Im prob leaning towards the DC becuase of the packaged price and besides I live in Puerto Rico and the shiping is somewhat expensive too!!
i have a clip or two of the buschur one on youtube if you search 29stevejohns

I think Beyond Redlines also sounds awesome in person. I have yet to hear the DC sport or CPE in person. Genesis' are rare in my area...

i wouldnt really question the quality of CPE..

If you want something loud, go 3in custom , no cats, and maybe 1 resonator to kept any rasp down.. thatd be ideal..
If you want LOUD, the DC Sports isn't very loud at the moment. I'm sure it's going to liven up once I install the catless O2 housing and downpipe.

Yeah im going just like that. cp-e catless dp, DC catback....i saw a set up similar to this and it sounded like sex!!
Good :) as long as you spent some time to search around, im sure youll be happy with it

YEAH!! well that exactly what i wanna do...but the Greddy was ridiculously expensive....but thats about it...delete cats and good mufflers...and ive read cp-e is the best dp out there!!
I had HKS on my 240sx and S2000 and never had a complaint.

I had DC Sports headers on my GS-R and lost power and swore I'd never buy from them again (I believe this was before they were with AEM)
DC is now sold at Pepboys. lol Id never buy anything performance wise from there. :)
^^ K&N is sold at Advance?

Is it?? at least not here in Puerto Rico...I would get the HKS, but the problem is the s&h its ridiculos!! hahah you guys get FREE SHIPPING (48 continental states)....hehehe not us...i really havent heard a complaint on the DC it might not be as well known, but for the axleback i'd almost have to pay $1000 buckaroos!!
I'd say save some money get Dc sport or Tsudo exhaust. Personally i have the o2 housing for mxp and dp/cbe from Tsudo and love it! From just an intake and TBE i got around 215hp/240tq on a dyno here in far west texas. And once you get an intercooler man you feel the difference from stock, all i do is punch it in 3rd and my tires beg for traction!
