i have a 2011 genesis coupe 2.0T. The mods I have done are:
-K&N typhoon intake
-ISR O2 housing
-ISR down pipe
-ISR cat back single exit
-tune (coming soon)
I know it’s nothing crazy but just out of curiosity, I was wondering how much the stock engine can handle before you start running into issues.

The engines are good for up to 400hp stock block but at the EOD it's reliable depending on how you drive.
I had around 380hp and drove it like I stole it and blew up twice.
Now I'm around 340hp and it's been good for over 30k miles🙏 granted I have a lot of supporting mods.

Then it couldnt handle 380hp... reliably

Its the stupid intake manifold design

Front cylinders run rich, rears run lean

Seriously, surprised no one produces an aftermarket one... in 13 years.
The engine is used in plenty of vehicles. I wonder if there is a swap, but no one's been looking. I wonder if the 2.5t has a metal intake mani...

The engine is used in many vehicles... the intake manifold is not.
Fwd version of the manifold won't fit, and the kia stinger version of the engine is gdi... and still wont fit

The bottom end can handle around 350 ft lbs of torque. The higher you go generally will lower the life span of the bk1 engine.I am happy to say after 2 years 25k miles on gen coupe store . coms big stock turbo kit my engine at 89k miles is still alive. I use 15w40 conventional diesel oil from stp supertech and rotella t4 3k - 4k miles each change. Drag race track race bunch of pulls never any issues. Low 300s both wheel horsepower and ft lbs.
