I took the tube the bolt goes through and shortened it. The tube is a limit stop for the clamp to tighten to. Not all batteries have the same sized post it seems. Both my Hyundais suffered from this.
Loose battery connector
I have owned this since January never noticed any battery issues. Today went to start and it was completely dead. Looked at battery and found one battery connector loose on the terminal. I jumped it and got it started. Went to auto parts store and got a sheath that goes over the terminal and now connector nut and bolt tighten fully. Fingers crossed this was remedy.
