I agree completely except that sometimes due to the limitless amount of repeated threads/questions, it does seem easier to post a new thread up. I personally could not find the info I needed about kill switches. People should search and go through the large amount of idiotic posts, then post their questions/concerns. :\ Just my .02 good luck with the endeavor brudda

I think if you know what you are searching for the answers are here. If your question is more abstract and you truly can't find the answer on your own then yea make a thread. It's just the opinion threads on "what's the best intake? I've searched but I want your opinion" those get fking old. Because there are a thousand.

New*****

Hey there I'm a new member here, bought my 2.0T back in jan and I had been lurking here since before I got her, I'm glad I'm part of this family now. Also I named my profile GenCoupeO'Rillo since I'm planning to get all if not most of the GenCoupes in Amarillo(Rillo) Tx together and we can all get together to make car shows!:)
Keep posted on fb @ fb/pages/GenCoupeORillo/417814081578928

Hello, i am also new to this forum and got my Gencoupe in December, I am also a DSM'er and think this thread is vital for newbies! I have been reading posts and mods for a couple months and used some posts to install and learn things about my 2.0. I think i read maybe 1000 posts about the Forge BOV before getting mine, and its painful reading some things in those posts about the sound and flutter etc...so i read what Forge had to say. I am still learning about the Gencoupe since there are differences to what i am used to. But i try to read or search GOOGLE before asking what might be a dumb question.:gc-smiley-sign-i-ag

So long as we helped one member feel welcome and more versed in their GenCoupe communication and search skills, this thread was worth it.

indeed Wildcat27,
I must admit that it gets frustrating if i try to do a search for something thats new to me and i find a bunch of threads thinking "bingo" this is gonna be easy then i start going through them and find out that the ship is WAY off course and the thread tells me virtually nothing about what i am looking for because as people have mentioned others like to "post" first and look later! Ughhhh!

RTFM first and foremost, then search, then ask is what i try to do.
At the same time i am not computer savvy especially when it comes to all involved in a forum setting so i hope i can find things before asking "i installed a new intake removing the stock airbox and silencer to the turbo, now everytime i press the gas pedal i hear a HUGE air leak and something whining!!!! Whats wrong with my car?":dunno:

:door:

Honestly the best way to search is using google rather than the forum's search function. "x y z search" + the word "GenCoupe" will return more relevant results than anything. Best advice I can give anyone trying to avoid posting common questions.

And then, when you can't find your answer, accept that there are ass holes on the Internet that will just be dicks to you, and just hope that someone who's kind and has knowledge will assist. Nature of the beast that is forum life.

I used to use the google custom search box on the site, but that tends to give me very old results i.e. only Zombie threads.

Yes I learned this the hard way, i normally try both but found if i just keep a Google window open i usually find a better result that takes me into GenCoupe forums anyway. Thats how i found this forum in the first place. :D
