OEM rim repair / paint

Just looking for thoughts on whether this was a good deal...

I have some curb rash from the first week I owned it, and since then only one other time letting someone else drive - being the responsible driver I usually am after a few drinks...

All 4 I am pretty sure have curb rash.

I got an offer for $150 / rim to clean it all up, strip it, prime, paint (any color).

Decent deal? I was looking around and I was sure I saw cheaper, in the US, but the cost for shipping is killer

If you could see samples of the quality of their work, that would help in determining if it's a good deal.

I skidded along a curb going about 40 mph. The entire rim was rashed. I paid $75, and it looks OEM. The repair guy said our wheels/color is the easiest/cheapest to fix.

And since your getting all 4 fixed, you shouldn't worry about color matching.

$150 seems a bit high, but if your having trouble finding alot of other repair places, $150 isn't ridiculously over priced either.
That's what I paid for mine. $600 total for all 4 rims paint to match body color.
If you have the GT, that means you have the 19" wheels. If you have the 19" wheels (in Her Majesty's Dominion of Canada, at least) that means you have hypersilver. If you have hypersilver, you want to be very careful getting them repaired: you can't slap a coat of paint on hypersilver.
what are the issues with painting the 19'' hyper silver. they feel like powdercoat almost is it an "adhering' issue?

The offer you received for $150 per rim to clean, strip, prime, and paint (in any color) is a reasonable deal, considering that curb rash repair typically involves several steps and requires expertise and specialized equipment. The cost can vary depending on factors such as the severity of the curb rash, the type of rim, and the location. While you may have seen cheaper options in the US, it's important to consider the additional cost of shipping, which can significantly impact the overall expense. Opting for a local service provider eliminates the shipping costs and allows for more convenience in terms of drop-off and pick-up. Ultimately, it's advisable to compare multiple quotes from different reputable rim repair shops to ensure you are getting a fair price. Consider the reputation, experience, and customer reviews of the service provider to make an informed decision.
