wow...Flesh and Mr.K are finishing sentences err....post for each other now to....lol...

hmmm....so it lloks like th stuff off hyundai-usa is accurate.

3.8 is a little higher than i expected, and the 2.0 is way higher.

Wow, I hate to say this but hyundai seriously jacked this one up. They are putting both models to high in the range to compete with similarly priced cars.

Tuner types and gearheads will probably be most interested in the newly announced mid-priced 2.0T R-Spec model ($23,750). Hyundai has chosen not to make the R-Spec a stripped-out lightweight performance model. As such, the model still includes things like the aforementioned six-speaker stereo, air-conditioning and remote keyless entry, but the 137-mph coupe also gets Hyundai's full compliment of performance hardware, including uprated Brembo brakes, stiffened suspension, a Torsen limited-slip differential, and 19-inch gunmetal alloys wrapped with summer tires.
interesting......

I had a chance to talk briefly with Derek Joyce yesterday...

What he had to say about pricing was take a look at all the options and features that Hyundai is offering and it is quite a deal.

If you guys have any questions I can probably get them answered.

Yeah, I noticed the narrow margin on the sedan.

But I am eligible for below invoice pricing.

I just hope the driving dynamics have improved since I drove it last. Granted it was just a rolling example with probably little to no suspension tuning done at the time, but it left me hoping for more and better. I've been hearing from various media that it drives like the G37 Coupe. I'm sure I (we) won't be disappointed.

I agree. For the stuff on the track model it is a great deal. Question is how much of that is getting replaced w/ after market? But since I will be at TBS for the USMC followed by flight in about 8 months I think i will prefer to have it all as i won't hav ethe time to go all out with the car till later.

Yes 2-3k of MSRP seems to be the way the dealers are going to sell cars in our present economic time.Just got done talking to a local dealer who placed an order for a bunch of them due in the middle of March. He said maybey the price will drop a little, won't know until he gets them on the lot.I did look at the pricing of the Genesis Sedan and they average 2k off MSRP.
Can I assume it will be them same on the Coupe ?
I'm not sure now about paying + 30k(freight,tax,processing fee) for a V6GT,I was hoiping for 2-3k less bottom line.
It will be interesting to see who will be around a few months. :dunno:

Ouch, very dissapointing.

Base model 300 hp Camaro at employee pricing will be same price as 2.0t base model...$3k less than the base V6 Gen Coupe.

426 hp Camaro SS at employee pricing will be within $1-$2k of the V6 track...

Looks like the Camaro is now at the top of list.. Lets hope for some good incentives to push the Gen Coupe prices down.

exactly what everyone else is failing to realize.

#22 ·
For $1700 more than the base model, the R-spec gives you Brembos, 19" rims, LSD, and track tuned suspension.

I think they butchered up the base model pricing. Everything else is as expected, and fantastic.

#25 ·
i like the r-spec price but that isnt coming out till summer and i have been without for a while waiting for this to come out but im not paying 27k for a 210hp track model this sucks

#29 ·
^^ I thought the exact same thing... there is a lot of "well heck, for only 3 thousand dollars I can get the 3.8" My friend who wants the 2.0 track was going on and on about how much he wants the 2.0, but for only 3 grand he can have the 3.8... I finally told him... this isn't comparing whether to get the generic or name brand sugar at walmart... get the one you WANT... you dont have to spend more for the 3.8 just because it's only x more...

I do see a lot of the people who are on the fence about it though making the swap from 2.0 to 3.8...

#30 ·
with discounts you could get the 3.8 track edition for the same price as 2.0 track. After talking to my Hyundai dealer I'm looking at as much as 3k off the car 4k next winter. So for the same price i could have 310hp and leather heated seats. FTL

guarenteed that prices will either drop or they will up the 2.0T hp.
