Unfortunately I would have to say yes. Common road etiquette is lacking. Different way of thinking. 1st/G37 comes over into my lane even though we were side by side for 5mins 2nd/ truck riding tail, hits back when lose dog crosses st in Waikiki 3rd/Suv backs into PARKED car 4th/ car runs red light hits pax side
Just out of curiosity, were you at fault partially for the second one? I know here that braking for animals and causing an accident puts the driver who brake also in the red, I don't think 100% though. I got hit once when I braked for a deer, and Johnny Hemroid hit me. Cop said I shouldn't have braked, as did my insurance. I am pretty sure I would take getting hit from behind though than hitting a deer.

Update on the incident from 8/2010 (post 78): approx $2k worth of damage from a hit and run.

**

Now applying for REPEAT membership....grrrrrr.....

4/25/11; car was rear-ended by idiot who THOUGHT she'd already pulled away from the light. Low speed impact; only readily visible damage was bumper cover knocked loose and the tag bent all to hell. Once the bumper cover was off; the frame, tailpanel, and trunk floor panel damage was all visible.

Picked it up a week ago -- total bill this time just shy of $4300.00. The Gecko paid for it this time.

**

Oh, and if anybody in the North Atlanta/North Fulton area needs a reference to a kick-ass body shop, google Performance Collision Alpharetta. They do a LOT of high-line imports; place is usually crawling with Pooches/Bendses/Lecksuses. Have seen a Bentley or two there as well. Disclaimer: I have no financial or other interest in the shop; just a damn satisfied repeat customer....twice on this vehicle, and once on my truck.

Wishing I never had to post in this thread...

My Genny has had quite a few minor "incidents" in this year and half I own it:

1. First was a hit against a metalic debry in the street which left a small scratch to the right front wheel and damaged the tire wall, but didn't change it.
2. Then I miscalculated a turn and hit the curb causing light damage that was not too visible.
3. A couple of months later my damaged front tire blew - yeah, I know I was very irresponsible not to change it when it was first damaged.
4. Later I hit my front bumper against a metallic fence and caused a few scratches to it and broke a supporting piece of my fog light that I repaired just a few weeks ago.
5. About three months ago it was raining and it was slippery, I was late to my destination and was traveling with traction control off. I accelerated a bit too much off a curve and the car skidded too much. I hit the curb voilently and damaged both right wheels.
6. Few days later I was passing a large truck in a curve, but the driver didn't see me and surpassed his track and forced me against the left curb in order to avoid him and damaged the other two wheels!

Actually no. Driver admitted he wasn't paying attention as did the cops.

Well you can add me to the list. Last night I was driving home and stopped at a red light when all of a sudden I was rear-ended and pushed into the crosswalk. Pissed, I get out of my car and the first thing I say is, “A ****ing Tiburon!” An 18 year old male driving a beat up 04 blue Tiburon and had not stopped and hit me. I found this to be very ironic because up until last year I owned two 03 tiburons. Thankfully there was a cop at the scene and hopefully my car will be fixed with no issues. The only damage I see is to my license plate and rear bumper cover. This car can take a beating because he hit me hard and I was surprised to not see as bad of damage.

I wonder why the Genny is getting so much of this minor accedents to right offs? I've skipped to the end, this is a fair sized thread. My car is a 2011 and maybe it was bad luck for the car to be released early. It's hard to say I just hope the curse is broken with the new model ;) I've seen some of you have been hit really hard and obviously survived.

An (admittedly offset) rear impact on my coupe incurred structural damage, dislodged the bumper, knocked the fender well against my rear tire, and broke the collision absorber/bumper retainer. $1500 Canadian, although that was at least back when it was still below the US dollar rather than t'other way 'round.

I suppose you may have had the benefit of being struck by a car by the same manufacturer, so the steel bumpers behind the ABS plastic were probably at the same elevation. You'll probably only need a replace and repaint of the bumper facade, which might only hit around $400-$600.

Yikes, dude, never post in the curse thread with a virgin car! We officially disavow all further responsibility. ;-)

Maybe my trade in took the brunt of Hyundai curse ;) I spun off into a wet ditch, that did some front end damage and knocked the rear left wheel out of camber and toe which the moron mechanic shop did not fix. The car also had some hail damage that decreased it's trade in value according to the putz son's owner/manager of the dealership. May the curse stay with the Tiburon. Maybe I should go have my pastor put a protective counter curse on my car before it has one?

Wow, bump for a sad thread. I got in a little fender bender in a loaner sonata while i was waiting for my coupe to be delivered. I don't got any pics but at least it happened to the dealers car and not mine.

This thread hurts my soul. I could only make it through the first 2 pages and I had to stop. I was crushed when someone hit me last week and left some scrapes on my bumper.

I gave my coupe a 'minor abrasion' against some condo garage cement wall a few weeks back.

Passenger side rocker panel got messed up (clips broke), had to be completely replaced.
Rear fender scratched down to the metal and dented inward. Had to cut and replace the metal.
Rear Passenger Rim gouged up, had that repaired in Hamilton.

Luckily I missed the passenger door completely.

Got it her back on Tuesday sporting a fresh detail and looking brand frickin' new. $2800 CAD out of pocket :(

Then it hails last night. That was a FML moment and a half.

It should be if you financed your car new, Candian banks require fully insured polices. "Comprohensive" Covers most stuff or "Specified Perils" is where hail comes under. On my policy it's a Section 3 item. The information your insurance company sent you with your proof of insurance paper work should line out what you are covered on. If your confused call them and they should be able to give you the details.

My car is coming up to one year now this July and since I got it 2 months after I pick up the car i get a Nail in my rear drivers side tire and got that patched up at the dealer.
some time in the winter I must have ran over a chunk of ice because I have a nice crack on my front passenger side bumper and a piece of my wheel well missing.
Then I get some idiot at my work parking lot with a hit and run who leave a nice huge scrape on my rear drivers side quarter panel.
A couple of months after that as I'm walking back to my car parked all by itself in the grocery parking lot with about 5 spots on both sides when a brand new Cadi CTS decides to park right next to me with the passenger side facing my passenger side.
I guess he figured if he parked next to the shiny new car that he wouldn't get any scratches on his car. BUT his stupid wife with out paying any attention decides to open her door full force like there is no car next to her and all the while I am almost at my car and when i see her opening the door i wanted to dive right in between both Cars but I was too late WHACK. she dents my passenger side rear fender and leaves a nice crease.
He tells me there is nothing there, I said are you kidding me, you are paying for that!...after the a few estimates he finds it too expensive so he decides his insurance can take care of it.

now i'm ready to take it in to the body shop to get worked on soon and also get the huge scrape on the rear passenger side fender done and Again last week I get a hit in run this time on my drivers side door. After I just detailed it the night before I could really see the dent in the shine. to add insult to injury the time i am looking at this dent all amped up a bird decided to use my car as its toilet and drops a bomb on my car. FML

These are all minor to what I have seen but every little scratch makes me feel sick. :broken:

Yeah it's the little dent's and assholes that make them that get you down. With a accident or getting nailed by another car you know it'll get fixed and if it's really bad replaced. Some idiot kicking your car or dip **** opening their door too hard ..... yup that is just a way to get really mad over the little things that add up to a bigger one.
