P0365 Camshaft Position Sensor "B" Circuit

Was driving my car and it just shut off and won't start back up and will crank. I pulled this code from the car and was wondering where the Camshaft position sensor is because it clearly crapped out on me.

Hmm. check the start and sub start relays?

I'm not sure at this point.

engine isn't getting fuel and/or spark, to start.....

Actually thinking about, maybe the fuel pump?

Get it somewhere warm and let it sit and try to start it.
When I checked the fuses I also checked the relays. Everything is good on that part. When I try to start the car it cranks a few times like normal and then there is a pop from the exhaust and then nothing. After tomorrow if the new crankshaft sensor doesn't do the trick I'll just have to bite the bullet and tow the car somewhere to a professional.
Check the timing? If I remember correctly, if it jumps timing, it can cause it to not start.
When you say check the timing, do you mean check the belt? Check to see if it's stretched or jumped out of place?

Seeing if the marks on the pulleys/sprockets are lined up.
Will do that right now thanks!
This may sound stupid but is getting access to the timing chain difficult? Cuz this could very much be the problem because this could definitely be tripping the code for the camshaft position sensor.

Just looked it up and it looks like the valve cover needs to come off in order to check the marks on the cam. Not sure how to see the crank.
:frown:
Yeah it seems like getting access to the timing chain is going to be a pain.
I am actually going to test it by moving the crankshaft in the opposite direction and look at the ignition rotor in the distributer. If it falls to move after around 5 degrees of movement in the counterclockwise direction I will know if there is slack in the chain.
Ok so I can't seem to find the distributor does our car have one? It seems like we don't so now I don't know how I'm going to check the timing chain.
Will removing the valve cover and looking at the timing chain on the two camshaft sprockets be good enough? My car is sitting in the street and can't do a full disassembly of the front of the engine to see the whole timing chain.
You 2 are checking the most complicated parts first

Check if it's getting spark and/or fuel.

Easiest way to check this is to get a can starting/fogging spray, remove the pipe off of the throttle body and have someone cranks it for like 10 seconds at a time, while you lightly spray the thottlebody about 3~4 feet away.

If it catches and starts, then its a fuel issue. if it doesn't then it a spark and/or fuel issue
Update: Had the car towed to Hyundai and today they told me that there must of been some timing and pre-ignition problem which caused some of my valves to blow up which also did damage to cylinders 1 and 2 and to the heads of the piston. They are going to have to get it authorized by hyundai through pictures if it can be covered under warranty. They said my wastegate is currently stuck open and say it was because of overboosting because of the aftermarket parts I have (o2 housing, downpipe, catback, forge BOV, CAI). I said the parts couldn't have caused the issue and the service rep told me he'd try his best to get it covered under warranty. They kept talking about my wastegate being stuck open which is weird in my opinion. I don't see how some exhaust parts could have possibly caused the issue and they don't know what happened either. I'm praying warranty will cover it.
Stuck open? Stuck open means no boost.

If it's an OEM tune then you likely over rev'd it on a down shift.
Yeah stock tune. Yeah I was confused about the wastegate I told them it should close once the car starts up and runs. Service advisor on the phone seemed like a decent guy and said he'd do his best to get me covered so I hope I will be and won't have to pay for this.
Not that this helps now. But my car used to shut off randomly and wouldn't want to start back up. I don't remember getting any codes.

Although I'm still uncertain of what the issue was, replacing the fuse for sensor 1 fixed it instantly and the car fired right back up.

Thanks for the knowledge! My problem turned out to be an engine issue as said above.

Sorry to raise this from the dead, but I was a good boy and used the Search button lol

Was researching as my 2012 Genesis 2.0 threw a p0340 and a p0365 code. Wanted to know what exactly ended up happening with yours? I'm about ready to get a couple Camshaft Position Sensors sent to me next day, so thought I'd ask

Thanks so much, I'm rackin my brain here.
