Hutchinson Island

Hutchinson Island
Hutchinson Island is located across the Savannah River, immediately north of downtown Savannah.

From I-95 exit onto I-16 East toward downtown Savannah. Take the exit for US 17 to Hardeville. This will lead you to and over the Talmadge Bridge. The entrance to Hutchinson Island is from the right lane only at the South Carolina end of the bridge. Follow the access road toward the Westin Resort hotel. Turn left on Resort Drive, between the Golf Club and the Westin Hotel. Turn left after the Golf Club onto the old track. Go about 100 yards and turn right into the Golf Club maintenance area. Follow the signs onto a gravel road about 1/4 mile to the paddock area and registration.

From US 17 (from Hardeeville, Bluffton, Hilton Head, etc.) turn left onto Hutchinson Island at the foot of the Talmadge Bridge. Follow the directions above once on the island.

It's not on the full track but rather in the infield. Usually you will not need to use 4th gear. mostly 2nd and 3rd gear setups with the given space and every now and then they will have a turn or two that will require going down to 1st gear.

Usually there is a good turn out, probably 30 cars showed up over the weekend, really high HP 300zx did some nice work of it's rear tires. The fastest cars out there were S2000's and Nissan GTRs

drove up there today, that track looks like it would be a lot of fun. Got to drive on it since they expended the area for parking for a gun show that was going on. Wonder what clubs actually use the full thing. Looking forward to this.

from what i understand only PCA really uses it anymore.

The Westin are the ones who own the race track. The golf course is incoporated into the race track. The driving range is one part of the race track too. A lot of professional races are help there.

It was a lot of fun, took a while to get used to it. There was a great turn out, a little over 40+ cars
