I haven't noticed any problems like that with the back of the seat but on the cushion part of mine ,both sides, there seems to be two metal bars that are only covered by about 1/8 " of foam that you can really start to feel them after only about 1/2 hour in the car. I'm amazed that no one else has ever complained of this though .
honestly, it is uncomfortable.
i have cloth too, and 30 min after. started get very uncomfortable...
well, cant do anything about it. unless you tend to buy anoher seat....which will be alot of money. oh yea, i bought like cushion thingy for my seat. little better.
I also bough neck comfort. again, little better.

best thing, WORK OUT YOUR BACK MUSCLE so it stays strong. kk (LOL)
Not me. These are some of the more comfortable seats I've sat in. Are you guys a little ummmm 'wider' than average? :)
No issues here with cloth seats. Drove new car home 215 miles and no problems.
i have leather seats in my premium but never had any problems .. but im 5'10'' and weight about 140-145lbs...
I'm quite comfortable. 2010 w/ leather. I'm 5'10" 165lbs.
i'm fine with the seats.
i drive to blue mountain a lot too. so easily a 2 hour drive, in traffic and all that.
I have 2.0t R-Spec which uses cloth base model black seats & I love them. They are right on par regarding comfort & support when compared to my BMW 540i with M sport pkg. I find most seats don't have enough lateral support & was suprised at how well these are designed. The longest I've driven is 6hrs to South Carolina Motorsports Park & another 6hrs back after tracking the vehicle all weekend. I've done this a couple of times with no complaints.

No problems here either. I have the R-Spec cloth seats w/ leather bolstering, and I find them very supportive and comfortable.

Maybe it's all those pull-ups and chin-ups that I do
I'm good and seats are real nice when I had it as a DD going 70 miles round trip a day @ 6'2" 302 lbs

+1
Lol no I'm actually quite underweight. 6'4" and 150 lb. Turns out I've just become fidgety lately because I sat in a sonata the other day and had the same issue. It's probably just me because I've driven it 10 hours to and 10 hours back for Pennsylvania a couple months ago and was perfectly
Content. It must just be in my mind

Most folks with seat comfort issues may need to lose weight, but in your case gaining a little may even help. :p
I checked my bolsters earlier and there isnt any metal going through them. Both bolters are made completely of hard foam
Hey! I have the same experience. But only sometimes do i notice it hurt my lower back.

The cloth seats in my 2011 2.0t premium kill my lower back. I am not over weight at all.. It just feels like the seat digs into my lower back sometimes. I have the lumbar up as well... not sure what I'm doing wrong but My 1997 Dodge Intrepid was a bit more comfortable than these seats.
I double checked and there is actually a metal rod on the bolters but its all the way on the outside of the bolster. I'd imagine you'd have to be fairly 'wide' for them to cause discomfort

And also i used to have the lumbar jacked all the way up and it did hurt my lower back. Now i keep nearly all the way down and it feels muuuuchhh better :)
But that doesnt make sense... if i Put the lumbar down it put's more pressure on my lower back (to support it?)... I'm not fat by any means.. or wide.. so there's definitely something going on that was enough of an issue to make a thread to gather everyone else's response opinions.

Since I have experienced discomfort before in the lower back area of my driver seat... I'm wondering if it has to do with the angle of the chair. I"ll mess around with the chair while I warm up my car and try with lumbar down and mess with the angle some tonight.
GF seats. Made 2 trips to Cali, and one to Reno, from Washington. Twenty five year history of back troubles. See a chiropractor twice a month.....The best seats ever for me!! Perfect. After straight driving to Cali......No pain at all:bowdown: 6'2" 195

Dude your all bones:rofl:
Well the way I'm thinking is that if you jack the lumbar all the way up its just protruding into your back rather than supporting it. Maybe you just have to play around with it and find the balance? Everbodys body is different and everybodys back has a different arch. What's comfortable for me might not be for you. The seats have enough support already and imo the lumbar isn't really needed.

And btw, the whole 'wide' thing is just a joke :)
