2010 coupe having sporadic soft brakes where pedal will slowly go to the floor. I know the sedans had issues with the HECU. Anyone have this happen with their coupe?

Brakes and fluids are fine. Every once and a while the brake pedal just goes slowly to the floor with little to no braking. If you pump the brakes it will stop and the pedal becomes harder. It’s sporadic.

It’s driving me crazy.

at idle does the engine sound change, when you press down on the brakes?

What engine?

Auto or manual?

Reason I ask is there are 2 check valves in the manual 2.0, one you can see and one in the hose going to the brake booster, that you can't see.

The auto 2.0 has a dedicated vacuum pump. So if you have an auto 2.0 be aware that the pump will make some noise.

If the engine sounds changes, then you have a vacuum leak somewhere or the brake boost is going bad.

It’s a 3.6 V6 automatic. Sound doesn’t change. Dealer says they can’t reproduce so that’s the first fight. Second will likely be when they want to charge $3k for the HECU.
