Hi guys, I have 2012 r-spec 3.8 manual. I looking to upgrade to the oem touch screen navigation stereo system. Has anyone had any issues? I do know I need to replace the mounting brackets and the trim. Anything else I should be aware of? any wiring I need to mess with or its just direct swap. I am open to If there are after market stereos then OEM. Just need good bluetooth connection then my stock non-gps/touch screen(infinity stereo). Thanks.

Rspec radio is crap, but I live with it, my bluetooth went out "system not ready" a while back, still no fix for that.

I know man, I feel your pain. I thinking about just changing the stereo to aftermarket one. Saw a few at best buy.

All the bk1 stereos were crap. I changed mine 6 months after owning the car.
I couldn't stand the pop, then pause every 5 minutes when the bluetooth would reset.

I think there is harnesses for wheel buttons, I'm researching into it. I careless about navigation system but definitely want a great Bluetooth connection.

I have a 2011 3.8 track with navigation and it is terrible. Bluetooth won't connect half the time and it freezes every once it awhile. I wouldn't go through the trouble of swapping it in your car. I would lean towards after market if I were you

Most OEM nav (all manufacturers) units before 2014? are run some version of Windows CE (think the version of windows before the first windows phones came out a while back).

I have a chinese stereo form Xrross

I got it because it has an Android OS and the company offers regular updates/patches for their stereos

Im an android guy too, you have some sorta picture or model number for that stereo?

I know it seems like you want to keep OEM stuff but the aftermarket is really good for the stereo. Steering wheel control functionality is maintained with a module such as an Axxess.

the no name "navi" stereos can be programmed with steering wheel controls.

Basically you wire it up, with the controls (3 wires. 1 ground, and 2 signal wires. 1 for each side of the steering wheel) start the app to learn controls, then follow the instructions.

The last 3 android base chinese stereos were setup like that.

HEY are you still with you genesis and I HAve a 2011 Gen Coupe 2.0t Premium with infinity and Navi but idk which dash kit will work with a double din stereo seems like 2 buttons will be left empty?

I have combined the original radio with a fairly cheap android screen. You can output the audio through both the iso connectors and the 3.5mm jack that goes to the usb / jack socket. In addition, I have automated the torque app and as soon as I upload it plugs in and displays the clock data. Also, everything connected to my phone and mounted with a magnet with a bracket to the CD slot.

no of course, is the normal 3.8 infinity autoradio.

Requires a different wiring harness to keep navigation screen. I have the same issue.
