Tint questionssss...

I live in the state of PA, the lowest tint they do here is 35% for legal reasons (even though it's illegal...sort of...) I have a nord grey gen with black interior, The windows are already *LOOK* a little dark because of all the dark colors working together, wanted to get your opinions on whether or not you think it's worth the $220 to get the windows a little bit darker...

I really like tint, I just am not sure how much darker it will make my windows...

Also, has anyone gotten pulled over for tint? What was the end result?

(Fun side note, I almost bought an 08 Evo GSR from a Jag dealership in MD a couple months back, the car had 5% tint all around...pretty insane.)

Yes, tint. Not only does it give the car a better appearance, it also helps you when it's sunny outside, both by allowing you to see without squinting as much and by helping protect your interior from fading.
nope, i moved to PA in august, still have FL tags, i think i have 25% all around. nobody has said anything.
So do you already have tint now?
I got 35% and my guy said since the glass had a factory tint it would bring it down to about 29%. I live in florida where the legal limit is 35
Ive got 5% all the way around and the entire windshield tinted 35%. I love it!
^lol the other day i saw a v6 accord with 5% tint all around and probably 25% windshield tint. It probably lower than that cus I coudn't see anything inside from the windshield except for the reflections.
ALL tint in P.A. is illegal except factory. You can read anything you want about % of tint that is legal but not all cops carry a meter. If they give you a fix it ticket it will have to be removed. I have 20% and have never been pulled over. If the place you are going will not do what you want go somewhere else. Just keep in mind if it's 5% or 50% if a cop says remove it you will have to do it or spend more money fighting for it then it is worth.
man..you guys are lucky..nj tint laws suck
whats their law over there? ours over here in VA is 50 front and 35 back. That's why I went with just 35 for the safe side.
^anything in the back but
Nothing in the front including passenger windows
Tint is not illegal in PA. The law states: No person shall drive any motor vehicle with any sun screening device or other material which does not permit a person to see or view the inside of the vehicle through the windshield, side wing or side window of the vehicle.

It does not specify what percentage of light must be visible.

So the "cops carry a meter" thing is bs.

They just pulled you over because you're: A. Doing drugs. B. Selling drugs C. Having sex with children.

So you're saying all I have to do is stop doing those THREE KEY THINGS and I'll never get pulled over again??

SCORE!
lol and how many times have you been doing those things? especially with option C.... HMMmmmm

WOW $220 that's expensive. At least in my part of the country. We have tint laws in NC also but for the most part the cops aren't gonna bother you unless you're doing something that warrants it. The biggest obstacle down here is finding an inspection place to pass your car with tint darker than 35%. If you can't find one than you have to just re-tint your windows every year.

Officer listen to me..i swear to god i didn't touch that little boy..and no no drugs either......
I have friends that live in PA... and they have their cars tinted. One of them I know said 35% before, so I'll assume that's the legal limit. Another friend has 5% all around and has never been pulled over.

I know in NJ, cops used to be able to pull you over for tint. Now they can only use that as an ADDITIONAL ticket, so I'm sure they will find something to write a ticket for just to get a tint ticket in. However, all of my friends with tints have never had a ticket issued or got pulled over just for tint. A girl I used to be friends with had her whole car 35% and lived in PA before moving here. She got pulled over in Seaside (lol...) for the tint and they when she went to court they dropped it since they had no additional tickets or a real reason to pull her over.

Also, take into consideration how you drive. If you drive like an asshole, yeah you'll get pulled over with a tint since it's suspicious and annoying. Drive safely and you won't have a problem. I am getting my car done to 35% windshield and sides... and probably 20% back. I also have vision problems and it's hard for me with my visual impairment and sensitivity to drive during dawn/dusk and a lot of times at night with other people and their HID's. I'll probably ask my eye Dr. for a note to have in my car at all times.

I'd go with the tint, I have a red genny and red/black interior and it looks amazing.

Some dealerships down here in southern cali actually have the windows tinted already. Im not sure exactly what % they are exactly but they look about the same as mine (35%)
Aftermarket tints, is it possible to have your tints done without having any dust sneak into the tints, especially in the back windows?

Although no one notice it, you know it is there.
