Weird noise under boost
About a hour ago I got onto the freeway and went woot in 2nd gear and once I let off the gas to get into 3rd it sounded like a cicada going off inside my engine bay, and now once I get to 3k u can hear, any ideas of what it could be?

I have noticed my performance isn't there any1, feels sluggish.
Well I don't think I would keep driving it if more problems are appearing. Get it to the dealership!!
It sounds like *something* is loose. Check around the flex pipe, if I recall correctly there is some sort of mesh around there that can rub and cause noise.
I had a similar problem, cause by a bolt missing from my exhaust causing a gasket to flutter back and forth...not enough to hear a loud exhaust leak, but enough to get a good healthy rattle going

I thought this same thing but once he hits 3K the pitch never changes or fluctuates at all. One would think a rattle would change a bit through the RPM..It sounds like *something* is loose. As soon as I can get my ecu reflashed I will be going into the dealer ASAP
Did it start happening after the tune? That sounds like crap and I can't believe you have 45k on your car lol. You should just get a seperate ecu anyways, keep us posted.
im 100% sure the tune has nothing to do with it.
im working on getting my car into a dealer with the tune still on it, i already had a intake manifold replaced under warranty and that was when i had the .5 sfr tune.

Ok good luck, I took my car to dealership with all my mods they didn't say anything.
I got a nasty predetonation once that kind of sounded like that... but it was only once. I was running 87, in 100F weather, with a 300lb passenger. Floored it in 6th on an uphill & guess I was just asking too much of the car (I was cruising at 70mph already).
Anyway, been running 91 since.

I have never put anything less then 93 in my genny, I maintain it every 3k-5k miles too
today i was planning on sending my ecu to jay to get it reflashed, so i choose to remove the exhaust mani heat shield and i noticed i wouldn't get the rattle any more until 4k. so i wanted to push the car alittle and then the rattle went from being at 4k to now 1.5k, i think its the wastegate but we will find out

Dealer called today and told me it could be the pressure plate, and they will take off the tranny and check it out tomorrow. i personally don't think it could be the pressure plate or anything do do with the clutch because the noise happens no mater if the clutch is pressed in or not or if its in gear or not.
i guess ill find out tomorrow.

Dealer called today and told me they replaced the tranny and pressure plate and the car should be ready tomorrow. I never had a problem with my tranny so I find it weird they are replacing the tranny too.

Maybe they noticed damage.
I will ask to see the old tranny and pressure plate, ill snap some pics of the damage.
