New here, first post and don't even own a GenCoupe yet. Thinking of a getting a 2013 3.8 Track Man. Wondering if I should wait a few months if the next model year will be releasing soon? I know there won't be a difference in the car, but maybe I could get a better deal on a 2013, if the 2014 is hitting the stores...

Thanks

A little after summer and it prob wont have any mayor changes. Thats the time to get 13's for cheap

Be careful trying to pick one of those up later on to get a deal on it. That trim with a manual isn't easy to get your hands on, if you find one just buy it.

between the three closest dealerships to me theres 6 or 7 3.8 track with manual transmissions, but they are all black.

Youd want to call some local car hauling companies. Get a quote. They do need to fill their entire trailer with cars to make money so u may wait a day or two at worst but that would be the best way. Fully insured and all that.

I have no idea how much it would cost. I haul a normal 53 ft trailer not a parking lot trailer. The company I Drive for has put cars in their van trailers before hi end hot rods in Harleys and stuff. But we charge by how much trailer space is used I think something like that going clear across Canada runs about 2,000 bucks so I'd imagine that a car on an actual car hauling trailer for only one state to the next would be around 500 or less just pure ballpark don't quote me on that

half a year ago i ended up flying to san jose (300 miles away) to get mine because there weren't any 2.0t m/t in los angeles, AND they were trying to sell them marked up 3-4K when they came in. i didn't get the color i wanted, but i got it under msrp and found it through auto trader. i had to drive it back to LA during break-in period which sucked, but i saved a lot of money and got my 6 speed. looking now there seems to be decent inventory on them so good luck dude.

End of summer is when the new car year usually rolls out and dealers have their old year clearance. However, any left at the end of the year will be severely discounted above that as dealers try to make bonuses.

That said, good luck finding a discounted Gen Coupe. Not many are available, and the ones that are are usually in automatic. So, if you wait until the end of summer for a '13, expect to have very slim pickings as you'll only get whatever is actually left.

I sell Hyundai's out of Boardman Ohio and I'll be honest although you may bet a better deal on a 13 late in the year it's going to be very difficult to get your hands on the one that you want. To find your color of choice in the package and transmission you want is damn near impossible in the Genny Coupes. Plus from what we are hearing the 14's will not be out any time soon.

While I'm not in the market for a 2014, I, too, have the same question.

I got my '10 in March of '09.
I got my '13 in March of '12.
Therefore, one would assume that you could get a '14 in March of '13.

This is why I took a 39 month lease this time, so as to be in the market in June, rather than in March.
I figured that sooner or later, the GC would stop seeing "early" releases from production.

I'm leaning towards no 2014 model....2015 model will be released early 2015 with different look and either a suped up V6 and or 5.0 option for a higher HP option with the 2.0 and V6 that is currently available too. I find it very odd nothing is out about 2014 yet. Price tag on the higher HP model will be between 38K to 42K. Just my thoughts....

The 2014 model will likely be like the 2012 model; the same as the 2011 (previous model year) but with incremental improvements. My 2004 Vibe had incremental improvements over the 2003 but looked exactly the same. The 2013 model was a major refresh so do not expect anything exciting until maybe 2016. This is normal for all cars. A three year cycle is about right. The Vibe went fours years before a major refresh although each year saw improvements. My guess is it will look identical to the 2013 but with updates to improve quality.

....or Toyota Matrix with different skin made in California.... That Vibe was the most trouble-free car I ever owned.

I was pointing out that model year runs seem to be on the order of three years plus or minus. As competitive as Hyundai is I am willing to speculate three years on the outside.

I also meant to write a little about the 2014 model. From what I have read, the 2014 model will have some other colors as well as a back-up camera. I like my color but would love a factory back up cam!

I like your avatar! I owned a 1971 TR-6 w/overdrive for about 10 years and put 175,000 miles on it as my daily driver! I finally got rid of it when the frame at the differential came apart! I parted it out for $900 in 1985. Loved the car though. It was a hoot!
