Why not just reflash with new turbo and injectors?

From reading the posts on the forum, I see that there are a number of ways to make the 2.0T more fun. Intake, exhaust, intercooler upgrades, etc. Seems that the biggest gripe is the turbo running out at higher rpms, the wgc maintaining boost levels, and the injectors being able to keep up with high boost at high rpm.

What is the disadvantage of only upgrading the turbo, injectors, wgc, and doing a reflash ($2600)? Would this setup be capable of 260whp and 300lbft wtq and how quickly would it turn my clutch into a memory? Stock internals?:dunno:

I believe with the parts you describe you are easily into 300 hp territory. The stock exhaust will flow well enough, same for the intake. The clutch is hit or miss, might need it, might not. Stock internals will be fine.
At 300hp Stock intercooler will suck (heat soak) Stock intake will suck (suck barely enough air for the new/larger turbo) stock clutch will suck (many have shown slippage past 270whp and/or 300wtq only a few weeks after mods) Its up to you. You can add and reflash with what ever you want.

or my belly!!!
factory turbo and injectors can push 260/300 with bolt ons, but no more. Unless you go with an evo swap youre going to have noticeably more lag than the stocker with bolt ons and a tune, for the same power.
Honestly I think its a good idea. You can always work on the bolt on later. Stock turbo is garbage and the faster you get rid of it the better!

For someone only wanting 260whp, the stock turbo is fine. Any bigger and hes going to have increased lag and worse daily driveability.

hey bud heard the song "it aint necessarily so" thats song applies now!

seriously the right choice will spool up earlier and stay in longer! ill bet my nuts on it!!!
What spools faster and flowd more than 13t? 20psi by 2500?

seriously yes there are turbo set ups that will better that!

i've grown attached to my jewels over the last 40+ years and don't bet them lightly!

one such off the shelf turbo would be a gtx3071 .63 ext/h .60 comp then customise it and its better again!

Lol, only had mine for 32 years but I'm fairly fond of them them too :)

I'm sure it will flow more than a 13T, but spool to 20psi by 2500 on a 2.0, or enough to make 300wtq by 2500?

more than the std turbo @ all rpm's & if tuned right taking advantage of the cooler charge even better again!!!
Only issues I see are intercooler being insufficient and possibly roasting the cats... Just depends.

^^A 2000$ turbo solution is just what everyone here is looking for.. :broken:

i have been its just so many of you keep asking me to come to the states so much so i am looking into it!!!
so love me or not, cheapest price or not, in cali or not you might have to put up with me as you cant beat value for money and i guarantee that!

if i come there and thats "if" be prepared for a shake up! we give the best value for money, we individualize / customize a tuning solution to your requirements not just our "Phase kits" and thats it like others! or off the shelf only! we really listen and then recommend best value for your individual use!

if we come we wont do just hyundai which is 5% of our market we will do all cars model t - ferrari, civic - peterbuilt!

youll love it!!!
You guys are off point. The question was whether it could be a viable option or not. The stock airbox might flow enough. None of you know because you have not tried to use it. I used mine up to 260 with no problems. larger turbo at lower compression will result in a lower temp charge going though the intercooler. Lag was not discussed in relation to stock, maybe the OP does not mind it? I might be mistaken, but wasn't Lovefab running with the stock intercooler? I believe Quartermaster has not swapped his out yet. I am sure he will after tuning his EVO X setup. Just saying you guys do not have all the answers. Do not say it can't be done until proven so.
