Track/R-Spec 19" Wheels On Standard/Premium Models

Hi everyone in Gencoupe land...this is one of my first posts and will be buying a GC shortly. I've searched the other threads and could not find a resolution to my question...my apologies in advance if it is answered somewhere else.

I'm looking to buy the 2.0 4-Cylinder Standard or Premium edition and switch out the 18" wheels for the OEM 19" wheel & tire combo. There should not be any problems doing this, right? The only thing that concerned me the potential ride height and/or clearance associated with the Track/R-Spec's "race tuned" suspension.

Thanks,
George

You will not have any problems doing this. The car is proven to handle a lot better with the big and wider wheels as well !

Hey guys. I tried ordering the tenzo type m v.1 solid black ( i think there's a pic on the first page of this thread) but the supplier that my shop is ordering from says the offsets won't fit. The sizes i ordered are F - 19x8.5 +17 (245/35/19) and B - 19x10 +22 (275/35/19). After looking at all the other fitments from this thread, it seems to me that there shouldn't be a problem with this fitment. I'm new to this so am I mistaken? Does it matter that I have the 2.0t and not the 3.8? They are looking into it now but any feedback from here would help as well. Thanks.

You should have NO problems making those sizes fit...only if you plan on dropping your car. If they STILL won't believe that those sizes won't fit...just show them MY specs. Btw...It shouldnt matter if you have the 2.0 or the 3.8.

^ Amen. You're fine and tell that supplier they're worthless.

I just installed my new setup of Tenzo Type-M v1 (black w/ red stripe) with the same sizes for my 3.8. When I ordered them they said the same thing... that they wouldn't fit, and I'd have to roll the fenders (they didn't know they come rolled from the factory) or get narrower tires (245s for rears). But I ordered the original sizes I wanted anyway.

Put them on yesterday and they fit and look great. Very very flush but still plenty of room before any rubbing would happen.

hey guys! so i'm still waiting for my gc. i've waited almost 2 months now and it should be with me within a month. i have a friend who is lending me his mags so i can slam my car already with BC coilovers until i decide on what mags i really want. the size of these rims are:

front - 9.5 +22 (255/40/18)
back - 10 +22 (265/40/18)

my only question is, would i need to have mad negative camber to avoid anything hitting? i know these will fit since slyd's car has even wider rims at the back with lower offset. but he is running major negative camber as well.

You wont have any trouble in the rear, but the front I can see being an issue unless you run a lot of negative camber. 255/40/18.. hmm 18s not 19s.. maybe you wont have as much trouble as i thought....

yeah, actually i think you will be fine depending on how low you go. you will definitely need to keep an eye on the front.

thanks split! will do for sure. i can't go too low since our roads here are pretty darn bad. lowest would be one index finger from the fender to the tires. i do like 18's since i like performance but i'm also deciding if i should get 19's coz the 18's in some pics look small for the fender of the GC.

if i were to get 19's, what width would be perfect so i don't have to run mad negative camber? maybe 8.5 (235/40) in front and 9.5 (255/40) in the rear?
