Official Genesis Coupe Wheel Fitment Thread

This is where we need to compile all of the information needed to upgrade your cars factory wheels and tires. Pictures of setups with tire size i.e ( 255/40/R18 ) and wheel dimensions i.e. ( 18x9.5 +15 ) etc. This will eliminate the question of "Will These Fit?!" by giving users a way to actually see fitment and therefore to decide what wheel they want to go with. I personally love looking at cars with crazy offset and super flush fitment. Whatever your taste, any contribution will be great.

Modifications for getting a certain offset and width to fit also would be good info. Any problems the installer ran into would be a good heads up too, like wheel rub when turning, etc. etc.

I will get things rolling. This is a good setup that fits flush and retains a functional and aggressive look.

Can a KPR rep let us in on the size, offset, tire size etc?

hardmack 09-03-2009 04:52 PM

I cant afford to blow $3500 right now on Wheels and tires lol

m R g S r 09-03-2009 07:01 PM

3500? works aren't even that much unless you are special ordering colors....

I really like the concave RPF1's or some emotion xd9's with a nice lip. Both of those won't cost an arm and a leg and will look awesome.

I'm thinking 17x9 low offset all around. yummmmm

ClayMan 09-03-2009 08:51 PM

Anyone other than seoulfulracing have 19x9.5 in the front? What tires, offset and how much camber??

Tenzo Wheels

I found these tenzo wheels yesterday. I wish I waited to get my wheels for better fitment. I might upgrade them next year if the wife is willing, haha.

5zigen ZR+520
From GenRaCER

18x7.5 front 18x8.5 back
37offset 32 offset

Supposed to have spacers, but I had a problem with them. I bought these specs so I could just swap my tires back to the OEM's if need and keep the same FLUSH IT look.

satheian 09-04-2009 11:02 AM

I would have gone wider, atleast a little bit, stock tires can still go wider up to I think an inch (8.5 front 9 rear) if I remember right. But you'll probably get to see my car in person rather than just pics like everyone else. lol
spacers are in my living room, springs should be here Thursday

As four your 4x4 look, it looks stock height to me, which is much lower than most production cars. lol

If your not willing to buy new tires, dont waste the $ on new rims. The whole point of buying rims is to give the car a more aggressive look and improve performance right? Wider is better, etc. etc....plus, there are way better tires out there than whats on the car stock.

Spacers.....why? You should have gotten a lower offset...no reason to run anything higher anything in the +20 range. Look at the first post, Grimm's car has Front 19x8.5 +15 w/ 245/35/19 tires and Rear 19x10 +20 w/ 275/30/19 tires...and fitment is GREAT....now, your running 18's...so that means you can fit something even more aggressive, and by looking at that pic, his wheels fit flush and aren't crazy....with coilovers slammed with some camber they would clear fine.

You should have gotten these on all 4 corners....
18x9.5 +20.....they have the deepest face in those wheels...DEEP TYPE 3!!!!..mmmm...right now your deep type 1 upfront, type 2 in the rear....so unbalanced looking!
http://www.5zigenusa.com/products/wh...0/deeptype.jpg

...and WHY did you stagger. There are so many reasons why not to run staggered wheels. 1, you cant rotate, so have fun buying new tires soon. 2, your front will understeer more now than ever, simply because the rear has a wider track and will literally push the car through a corner, and 3, it looks lame.

If you want wheels to fit on your car, make them fit! God made hammers and baseball bats to roll and pull fenders with! :)

And also, i ran spacers for years drifting and on my daily driver....and i noticed something, wheel bearings pooping out on me after like half a year. Wheel spacers put stress on the entire hub assembly and dont allow the wheel to actually be mounted flush to the hub itself. A lot of cheap spacers have uneven surfaces that result in uneven tire wear, noise, and bad bearings. Be careful, and just order wheels that have a nice offset. IF anything, order something you think is a little much, chances are with some camber and the right tire choice, they will more than likely fit perfect.

Just some info from my past experiences.

ImAuthenticFTW 09-04-2009 02:54 PM

idrum, did you really just ask why someone put a staggered wheel set on his coupe? you do know it comes that way STOCK and to go with unstaggered wheels will kill the way the car handles?
