Steering wheel shake

I recently bought some new tires and rims and when I go 60+ I get really bad steering wheel vibration. I took it to a shop to see if the rims were bent and no they weren’t bent and yes they are balanced. Anybody have a clue what else could be the problem? This **** is frustrating af please help.

I've been having the same issue for a while now.

I replaced the spindles and cleaned the treads of rocks that were stuck in the new tires.
It helped but eventually came back.

I'll be cleaning them again, when I change the rotors.
Do you know if your new rims have a 67.1~ hub bore?

I have cosmis racing and the hub on the rim is 73.1 so I got 73.1 to 67 and still vibrating

It's the tires. What size are they? Some balance problems you cannot fix with normal procedures.

that could be your issue... also, have you had an alignment done? lowered? age of car? I had similar shaking, got an alignment done to the best that they could do it, and that has helped immensely. Apparently, though, they couldn't get it closer to spec because I needed the camber kit bolts. I think something might be bent in my frame, if that is the case

I’m getting my alignment this Wednesday so hopefully that’ll help some. I do have a pretty aggressive offset in the front so maybe that’s it idk. I don’t have the car lowered yet I wanted to figure out this problem before I do that lol. I have hub rings on the rims but i bought some new ones from cosmis racing since I have their rims so my fingers are crossed that i at least dumb down the shake.

FYI, caster is off from the factory on the BK1 (maybe BK2 also. idk) and it's not really adjustable, unless you get some after market suspension parts and/or shifting the K-member.
So just let the shop doing the alignment know that caster is likely going to be off.

This is the cause of the car wanting to pull to the right on crested roads.

Edit, just read that you had the wheels balanced.

I'm out of ideas then. Possibly wheel bearings?

Could be.

Could also be the rubber couplers on the drive shaft, and just coincidence that it started to go out of balance when the wheels were changed.

Do you notice the shaking all the time above 60mph or does it change when turning? Mine would get worse/change tone around turns. Ended up being one of the bearings. Hyundai refused to acknowledge the problem and I had to go to a local shop to do then submit a warranty claim.

You also may want to try and go to a place with a hunter road force balancer. It adds weight to simulate the weight of your car when balancing/aligning. That may help considering your offset.

FYI I also needed camber bolts on the BK1 to get the alignment close to spec.

I have changed almost everything but the wheel bearings and still have a shake. Done the road force balance, new rotors, new tires and two alignments and a new oem wheel.

Not all tire/wheel combos can be balanced normally.
