I have this issue. It sometimes works and sometimes doesnt. I dont get why and have never been able to fix it.

 

Yep I have the same issue, 3 or 4 times a week I would have to hit default settings to get it to toggle.

 

Same thing. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

 

I have a suspicion the light sensor in these cars is crap and can probably be partly blamed, I don't have an issue with the nav screen dimming but my auto headlights turn on far too easily, like when going under an over pass or being stopped in a shadow, really annoying.

 

Mine usually stays dim during the day, lol

 

Every once in a while, if I drive to work in the dark, when I come out after work and start the car, the screen will still be dim. I have to go to Settings - Display and adjust the brightness either up or down, doesn't matter, then it corrects itself.

 

If at some time you used the voice command to set the navi into day or night mode only, you need to use the OTHER voice command to set it back into automatic mode.

Then again, the 13s did get different software and you know how first year in changes can be...

 

Mine doesn't automatically switch either.

 

Mine's always been set to Auto but from time to time I start the car and the screen comes up in dark mode (even if many previous drive cycles have been during the day). It's happened maybe 5-6 times in the 5 months I've had the car. Doesn't matter which mode it's in, NAV, Audio, etc.

It's sorta like the Bluetooth.....maybe one out of ten times when I start the car it just doesn't connect with my phone. It's the only phone in the list and I've removed and re-paired it a few times. I always put the phone in the exact same spot. If I manually tell it to connect then it's fine.

 

Happens with me often. All I do to correct it is turn off the screen and turn it back on. It then corrects itself. Next time I go into the dealership for service, I'll ask them about it.
