Recently my paddle shifters have begun to feel cheap and are getting harder to press, I sometimes need to press it a few times to allow a gear change, I am looking to replace or fix them but have no idea how to go about it, do I need a new steering wheel? Can I buy replacement or different ones for the car and replace the old ones? Any help would be nice especially where to look for new ones, dont have to be OEM, thank you for any help.

These are v.simple rubber switches if i recall. very similar to what you have in your tv remote.

Remove your steering wheel, pull out the paddle shifters and change the rubbers out for new ones. They will work flawlessly then.

Its easy job but you will need a wheel puller

You will need to remove the airbag first That is tricky. Disconnect your battery first or you might set them off!

To my knowledge the steering wheel must be replaced.

That's true Airbag needs to be removed with battery disconnected. And no you don't have to replace steering wheels to mess with the paddles - its relay simple system

i need to check if the shiftier knob + and - gears can be swapped as i prefer to Pull for + gear instead of push
