Hey, so I have 2 codes that came up after taking out the stock nav and replacing with a pioneer double din. All of the speakers are replaced. RCAs to the amp, wires all to the amp with no splices into stock wiring. I have the SRS light on the instument cluster that stays on. Its a 2011 GT.
Took it to the dealer to pull the codes and those are B1742 and B1748. Those mean side impact sensor communication failure, one for driver side, one for passenger side. The dealer couldnt tell me if it was the door sensor or the b-pillar sensor. So I took my trusty DMM and checked continuity from each wire back to the SRS control module by the e-brake. All of the wires are working from the sensors to the control module plug. This was with the negative off the battery for 3-5 minutes. Kinda strange how both sides failed at the same time right?
There is a plug for the stock stereo that is not used for the new one. Plus one that has can high and can low. I think the can high and low are for the auto AC readings. There is an alternator level wire and door lock wire that I have no clue about.
Thoughts aside from having the dealer have it for a day and charge me a fortune?
